Celebrate BBW

Hi QT’s! Thanks for joining us this week as we Celebrate Black Breastfeeding Week (BBW). Black women have been successfully breastfeeding since the beginning of time. But do to historical injustice, decreased access to medical care, and other social and economic factors black women now have the lowest breastfeeding rates in the United States. In this episode, IBCLC Devona Robertson joins us in the Queen’s Chambers to discuss: What is BBW?:Black breastfeeding Week Why do we need one? Black breastfeeding study and stats Jesse Williams #alllivesmatter In the Queen's Chambers Devona shares a little of information from her mentor and fellow advocate, Kimberly Seals Allers. Devona is a passionate community leader who is involved in the birth and breastfeeding and more in the Inland Empire. She is a part of a variety of different organizations: C.O.P.E. Sister Song Sisters Mentally Mobilized She is also organizing two BBW events in the IE.
