Many comics podcasts make an effort to review the latest releases as quickly as possible, but don't go into much depth about them beyond whether they were good or bad. Jeff and Graeme go the extra mile and then some, giving you information not only on the story, but also the creators and the context in which it was published. They don't mind looking at the book critically (in the literary sense, not the snarky, internet sense). Not content with just classifying a comic as "good" or "bad," they want to get into it, find out the whys and hows of it. Sometimes discussion of one book can dominate a majority of the podcast's running time.
They also have erudite knowledge of comic-book history, which informs a lot of their discussions, including the news and events coming out of the comics industry. There's also discussion of books, movies, and TV from time to time, but it's all done to illustrate a point, and eventually, they bring the discussion back to comics. Sometimes they discuss the history of certain creators like Steve Gerber or get into British comics publishing for hours on end. Then, out of nowhere, they'll pull out something like an explication of Michael Bay's "Transformers" movies. I've never heard anyone describe a Bay film with such careful analysis. They don't give short shrift to any topic that enters the discussion.
Finally, although this podcast could be classified in the "amateur" category (as in not made in a studio or sponsored by a company), both Jeff and Graeme always try to ensure that their listeners get the most of each show, and the two hosts have great radio voices, especially Jeff, which just adds to the listening pleasure of this two-man effort.
