Wild, Wise & Curious...

Michelle Haggerty-Wood & Lou Baker

Welcome to Wild, Wise & Curious - the podcast where midlife, perimenopause and post‑menopause become a wild awakening rather than a slow unravelling. If you’ve ever felt like you’re losing the plot, rewriting it or stepping into a new chapter, you’re in the right place. We’re Michelle & Lou - not experts, just two midlife women with lived experience, curiosity and a deep belief in the wisdom of shared stories. Michelle, a scriptwriter, has always been drawn to the power of narrative - how stories shape us, heal us and bring us together. Lou, with a background in psychology, is fascinated by the human experience and the ways we make sense of our lives. Naturally curious and happily chatty, we love listening to women’s stories and helping others feel seen, heard and valued. Wild, Wise & Curious was born from that shared love of conversation, curiosity and community. What began as two women talking honestly about our own midlife experiences has blossomed into rich, meaningful conversations with guests from all walks of life... and we LOVE it! Each episode, we sit with real women navigating anxiety, panic, hormonal chaos, identity shifts, grief, joy, rage, rebirth and everything in between. Their honesty is medicine. Their laughter is grounding. Their wisdom rises from the lives they’ve lived and the truths they’ve reclaimed. Wild, Wise & Curious is a community, a conversation and a reminder that you’re not going mad - you’re unbecoming what you were taught so you can remember who you are. Follow, subscribe and share with your midlife mates. Trigger note: we discuss anxiety, panic and emotional wellbeing, so please take care while listening. The Wild Current: Navigating Perimenopause, ADHD and the Shifting Seasons of Womanhood

This episode is an honest, funny and deeply relatable conversation about navigating perimenopause, ADHD and the big identity shifts that often arrive in midlife. Louisa shares how she discovered she was in perimenopause after months of unexplained symptoms, how hormonal changes intensified her ADHD, and how she’s learning to be kinder to herself as life evolves. We explore alternative lifestyle dreams, community building, the longing for real‑life connection and the pressure to stay visible online. From compost toilets to Cornwall callings, from creative work to parenting through all the chaos - this is a conversation about women finding clarity, courage and connection in the middle of everything. And woven through it all is the reminder that midlife isn’t a collapse - it’s a recalibration. A reawakening. A moment to question old expectations, soften into what really matters and imagine new ways of living that feel more grounded, more spacious and more true to who we are. If you’ve ever felt stretched thin, pulled in every which way or quietly craved something just a little bit different, this episode will feel like that exhale you didn't even realise you'd been waiting for! As Louisa steps into this next chapter, she’s also honouring a huge milestone - Barefoot’s twentieth year - a testament to two decades of community, creativity and connection. A legacy still evolving, just like the women who built it. The Maybe Years: Menopause, Marriage & Midlife Truths

In this episode, we sit down with Jennie for an honest, funny and deeply human conversation about perimenopause, menopause and the midlife decisions no one prepares you for. Jennie shares how her journey began with mood swings, hot flashes and brain fog in her 40s - and how those symptoms slowly unravelled parts of her life she thought were set in stone. From medical treatments that didn’t help, to the hormonal shifts that affected her hearing and vision, to the moment she realised she no longer wanted to stay in her marriage, Jennie talks openly about what she calls her ‘maybe years’. Together, we explore the conditioning women inherit around marriage, career and ‘sticking it out’, and how midlife can become a powerful turning point for choosing authenticity over expectation. Now a divorce coach, Jennie helps other women navigate these crossroads with clarity and compassion. This is a conversation about hormones, identity, relationships - and the freedom that comes when you finally choose yourself.   See below for more on Jennie: Jennie Sutton, is an award‑winning divorce coach known for her practical, no‑nonsense guidance for women navigating the complexities of separation and divorce. After ending her own 30‑year marriage seven years ago, she founded Untying The Knot to ensure no woman faces this life‑changing decision alone or unprepared.
