Things That Work in Relationships But Social Media Says Leave | Episode 232

Happy new month, Inbetweeners. May your September be filled with love, kindness, positivity, peace of mind, laughter, healing, and plenty of good days. Today’s episode is all about those things that are working perfectly fine in your relationship, but according to social media, y’all should have broken up already. We put this question up on our Instagram stories and the responses were quite interesting. Someone said, “I loan my man money when he is low.” Another said, “I am taller than him.” We also had, “We don’t talk every day,” “He cooks and does the laundry while I sit pretty,” and “He is Muslim and I’m Christian,” among many others. We unpacked some of these responses and shared our thoughts on whether they’re actually red flags or just things that social media has decided shouldn’t work in a relationship. We’d love to hear your thoughts on the ones we mentioned, and if there’s something that works perfectly fine in your relationship but would have the internet telling you to leave, share it with us in the comments. A sexless marriage is clinically defined as a relationship where spouses have sexual intercourse 10 or fewer times per year (or less than once a month) TherapyJeff on posting partners online:https://www.instagram.com/reel/Da5R_hsNiaS/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsi=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== Shop the galaxy collection: https://enkatawatches.com/product-category/collections/galaxy/ Partner with us: 📩tmipodcastke@gmail.com 📞+254 743 646 281. America’s most wanted: my family on the run, part 1

In some ways Zayd Ayers Dohrn’s childhood was normal; his parents went to work and played with him in the park. Though in other ways it was anything but: moving between safe houses, fleeing in the night as the FBI moved in. His parents were the leaders of a violent revolutionary group called the Weathermen and then the Weather Underground, which the US government classed as a domestic terror group. They opposed the Vietnam war and racism in American society. They drew attention to their cause though bombing campaigns targeting government institutions from police stations to the Pentagon. The group were largely white college graduates, they worked with militant black organisations such as the Black Liberation Army to organise bank robberies and jailbreaks. By the time Zayd was born his parents had been fugitives for several years. They taught him how to identify the FBI agents who were looking for them and how to lose a tail if he was being followed. For Zayd, as a small child, it was a game – but one with potentially serious consequences as his parents' activities could see them sent to prison for years. However, they wanted him to go to school and for him to do this they decided to hand themselves in. The Whistleblower

When nurse Bernadette Rochford asked awkward questions about an NHS database at work, she says she found herself belittled, bullied and ignored. Identifed as a whistleblower, she went on to face years of meetings, investigations, and two employment tribunal claims. In this compelling conversation with Olly, Bernadette recounts how she lost her job, and her savings - but eventually found validation in a new role protecting other whistleblowers. She reflects on what happens when organisations close ranks instead of listening, and why she believes the answer isn't punishing individuals, but fixing the systems that let problems grow. _____________ Meanwhile, in the Zeitgeist: Chinese cars are suddenly everywhere, but are they any good? Ollie Peart investigates how brands such as BYD, Chery and Geely offer tech-packed motors for dramatically less than their European rivals. Then, after heading to the Formula E championships at London’s Excel to witness electric supercars in action, he takes Olly for a spin in the tiny Microlino EV, a Swiss quadricycle that you enter through the front and which feels considerably more exciting than its top speed may suggest.  Is this the future of urban transport - or just a glorified second car that happens to be brilliant fun? _____________ Elsewhere, down the Foxhole, Alix Fox advises a listener who wants a clitoral orgasm via oral sex, but doesn’t know how to get her new partner to give it to her… What practical ways can cunnilingus become more comfortable and enjoyable? How long should women expect their partners to go down on them? Is it too clinical to set timers? And can saliva enhancers and toys like the Svakom Klitty and LELO Ora 3 assist? Alix has the answers. _____________ Finally, our record of the month is ‘In Motion’, the latest banger from The Snuts, from their forthcoming album 'Joy In Short Moments', out in October. 🎸 _____________ If you’ve got a letter for Olly, a relationships question for Alix, or a challenge for Ollie, please head to our website (where you can also donate to the show 🙏): https://modernmann.co.uk And/or join our Discord here. _____________ Thanks for listening - and we’ll see you on October 10th.
