Trusting Your Light with Marcia Annor

Welcome to the very first episode of Diaspora Daughters. In this deeply grounding and expansive conversation, Gladys sits down with London-based Ghanaian artist Marcia Annor, whose spiritual artwork explores oneness, unity consciousness and the power of light within us all. Marcia shares her journey as a second-generation African woman navigating identity between Ghana and the UK, the experience of never fully feeling “at home”, and how art became her pathway to self-discovery. From childhood creativity inspired by her brother’s drawings, to studying animation and freelancing with global brands, to eventually stepping fully into spiritual art, this episode explores what happens when you begin questioning your reality and choose to trust the answers that come from within. Together, they reflect on growing up between cultures, moving beyond inherited religion into personal spirituality, and learning to trust your intuition even when it feels uncomfortable. Marcia opens up about her experience with severe social anxiety, how creativity became both her meditation and her validation, and why oneness is the core message behind her work. Speaking directly to daughters of the diaspora, especially Black women, she reminds us not to dim our light, not to forget our roots, and to trust that we are far more powerful than we have been taught to believe. ---- Connect with Marcia: Instagram: @marciasdivinity Email: marciasdivinity@gmail.com Hosted on Acast.
