From War Zones to Ayahuasca: A Special Agent's Journey Through Trauma & Healing

Kemmi Sadler spent over 20 years in some of the world’s most dangerous places as a federal agent with the U.S State Department’s Diplomatic Security Service (DSS). She survived explosions, protected officials in war zones, and lost colleagues to violence. But the hardest battle came after she returned home.In this episode, Kemmi shares how unprocessed trauma—from the murder of her Iraqi colleague to the loss of her brother—shaped her life, and how fear of stigma and losing her security clearance gave her hesitancy to seek trauma therapy. After hearing Joe Rogan discuss Ayahuasca, something she'd never heard of, she took a leap that led her through deep healing, forgiveness, and emotional release across more than a dozen ceremonies. Now retired, Kemmi is the author of From the Badge to the Vine, founder of Legalize the Divine, and an advocate for safe access to plant medicine. She’s also preparing to walk the Camino de Santiago with her dog Nona to raise awareness for first responder mental health. This conversation is about confronting trauma, breaking down emotional walls, and finding joy after years of suppressed emotional pain.Chapters:0:00 - Welcome & Kemmi's Background1:46 - How Kemmi Got Into Law Enforcement3:50 - Jumping Into Kuwait War Zone5:47 - Discovering Diplomatic Security Service8:23 - Dangerous Assignment in Iraq10:35 - Tragic Loss of Colleague Amel14:36 - Dealing With Trauma & PTSD20:25 - Joe Rogan & Discovering Ayahuasca26:25 - First Ayahuasca Ceremony & Emotional Walls30:44 - When the Walls Finally Broke33:23 - Unexpected Grief for Her Brother37:52 - Finding Balance Between Pain & Joy42:24 - Adoption, Coming Out & Identity48:38 - Creating a Healing Sanctuary49:50 - Advice for Those Considering Ayahuasca52:14 - From The Badge to The Vine Book56:13 – Nona’s Way- Walking the Camino for Mental Health59:38 - Plant Medicine Movement & ClosingLearn More about Kemmi and her new book, From the Badge to the VineA Journey Through Duty, Trauma, and Healing www.klsadler.com-   / klsadler  Instagram: @klsadler_https://nonasway.com/- Kemmi will be walking the Camino de Santiago, with her dog, Nona, in April of 2026, in honor of First-Responders who are still carrying invisible wounds, and those who lost the battle before help could reach them.Instagram: @nonas_way_

Leaving Home, Losing Fear, Finding Purpose: A Psychedelic Journey with Alexandra Artzoglou

Together, Jeannie and Alex explore the intersections of trauma, somatics, spirituality, psychedelics, and self‑actualization, weaving in their own parallel experiences with meditation, yoga, family wounds, and the profound insights that come from altered states of consciousness.Alex shares about her training with the Psychedelic Coaching Institute and Gabor Maté’s Compassionate Inquiry, and explains why integration — not just the psychedelic experience itself — is the true engine of transformation.
