    244. 5 Needs of a High Performing Team

If you want to build a business empire, you must understand the needs of your people. Your job as a leader is to make sure your team has the resources and mindsets to perform at a high level. In today’s episode, we review the top five needs you should ensure are met for everyone at your company. You may have heard of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs before, but we explore this cornerstone of human psychology through the lens of business leadership. Using stories from our own lives, we explain how to meet the physiological, safety, social, esteem, and self-actualization needs of your team and your loved ones. Natural disasters, illness, and economic changes aren’t new, and they aren’t going away anytime soon. The good news is that great leaders change lives. You’re in a position to help people survive and thrive. We’re here to help you do it. Resources: Listen to Episode 169. 240. Learning from Wins and Losses

Success leaves clues. Failure leaves clues, too. In this episode, we discuss recent personal wins and losses and what we have learned from them.  We analyze the departure of a recent hire and what clues that situation gives us about how to improve our leadership, hiring, and managing skills. We also talk about getting off track with personal health and how it can bring our attention back to what really matters. We also celebrate our wins. Seychelle was able to run her company remotely for the summer, and Sarah was able to pull her company out of stagnation. These wins left us clues about the power of giving your team autonomy and, of course, the wisdom found in “Good to Great.” It’s hard to be this vulnerable and transparent on a podcast, but that’s what we’re all about here at Empire Building. That’s what it takes to build a big business and a bigger life! 239. Tax Strategies for Real Estate Investors with Amanda Han

Amanda Han is on a mission to make taxes sexy… or at least somewhat understandable. Amanda Han is a CPA, real estate investor, author, and social media influencer. She joins us on the show today to share her empire-building journey and give us nuggets of wisdom about tax planning. As a child, Amanda Han ran around with her cousins, collecting rents on behalf of their non-English-speaking grandparents. After years of working for a big accounting firm, she decided to get back to her roots. Today, she runs an accounting business for individual real estate investors, helping them build generational wealth. Amanda is equal parts funny, thoughtful, and genius. She gives us tips on S corps, tax deductions, and accelerated deductions. In the next breath, she tells us how she binges on social media once her kids go to sleep. 238. 5 Reasons You're Burned Out & What To Do About It (2)

Welcome back for Part Two of our episode on burnout! As a reminder, in Part One, we covered the five reasons you're burnt out: You don't know what matters most to you. If you do, you aren't prioritizing it. You think you can do it all, have it all, and know it all. You take no time for recovery after stress. You don't know your numbers, especially your finances. You don't get that it's not about winning; it's who you become on the way. In the last episode, we covered what to do about number 1 and number 2, so today, we'll jump right in at number 3. We break down stress into seven different categories and give you tactics for how to recover from each one. We identify the key financial figures you should know. We wrap up with a discussion about how important it is to value your journey and pick good fellow travelers. Don't forget to check out the links below to join our communities of support!
