    Les Troubles du Comportement Alimentaire

    Anorexie, boulimie et hyperphagie boulimique sont des troubles du comportement alimentaire (TCA) qui modifient le rapport à l’alimentation au niveau qualitatif (choix des aliments) ou quantitatif. Souvent associés à un trouble de la perception du corps, aussi appelé dysmorphophobie, les troubles alimentaires peuvent avoir de nombreuses répercussions sur la santé et nécessitent une prise en charge, qui peut nécessiter des hospitalisations de longue durée. Quelles peuvent être les causes de ces troubles ? Quelles prises en charge existent ? Quelles sont les complications de ces TCA ?   Ne pas assez manger, bannir certains aliments, trop manger, se faire vomir, s’épuiser par le sport, prendre des laxatifs : souffrir, mentir et ne plus savoir comment sortir de cette spirale cauchemardesque que personne n’imagine, ni ne comprend autour de soi. Troubles des conduites alimentaires, troubles des comportements alimentaires (TCA) : trois initiales derrière lesquelles on retrouve l'anorexie mentale, la boulimie et l'hyperphagie boulimique.  Ces TCA concernent le plus souvent les femmes, avec un déclenchement à l’adolescence – en association avec la dysmorphophobie (altération de la perception de son apparence physique –et peuvent engendrer une grande souffrance et des complications sévères (dépression, anxiété, carences alimentaires préjudiciables pour la santé cardiaque, aménorrhée, impact sur la santé buccodentaire…). Une prise en charge complexe Ces désordres alimentaires plus ou moins sévères peuvent nécessiter des hospitalisations de longue durée. Comme pour d'autres problèmes de santé mentale, ces TCA peuvent s'installer de manière insidieuse et silencieuse, et se vivre dans un premier temps de manière cachée, jusqu'à ce que la silhouette traduise les premiers symptômes visibles. La maladie se révèle alors à l’entourage, lorsque certains agissements compulsifs se sont installés, et commencent à faire partie du quotidien du patient (restrictions alimentaires, décompte des calories, vomissements, crises boulimiques…)   Ces troubles sont aujourd'hui associés à beaucoup de préjugés : parce qu’un certain nombre de personnes croient encore qu’il suffit de se remettre à manger pour se soigner.
