    The Lindsay Clancy trial has ended in a mistrial, leaving a case that has captivated the country without a verdict.In January 2023, Lindsay Clancy killed her three young children, five-year-old Cora, three-year-old Dawson, and eight-month-old Callan, before attempting to take her own life. Clancy pleaded not guilty to three counts of first-degree murder, with her defense arguing that she was not criminally responsible for the killings because she was suffering from severe postpartum psychosis and other mental health issues. Prosecutors argued that Clancy was criminally responsible and that the killings were deliberate.After weeks of testimony and nearly 40 hours of deliberations over seven days, the jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict.     On July 23, 2007, the quiet Connecticut town of Cheshire was shaken by one of the most devastating home invasions in the state’s history.In the early morning hours, two men broke into the home of Dr. William Petit and his family on Sorghum Mill Road. What began as a burglary quickly turned into a hostage situation, ending with the deaths of Jennifer Hawke-Petit and her daughters, 17-year-old Hayley and 11-year-old Michaela.     MURDER AT THE MALL: The Case of Christina Long

    featuring Danbury Connecticut Police Special Victim Unit Detective Rachel Halas (retired) who investigated the disappearance of 13-year-old Christina Long. More than 24 years after the death of 13-year-old Christina Long, we revisit the case that devastated her family and shocked Danbury, Connecticut.At the center was Christina Long, a sixth-grade honor student, cheerleader, and altar girl who met 25-year-old Saul Dos Reis through an Internet chat room. On May 17, 2002, Christina met Dos Reis at the Danbury Fair Mall. Three days later, her body was found in a remote ravine in Greenwich after Dos Reis led investigators to her remains. Authorities determined that Christina had been strangled.This episode examines Christina’s life, her interactions with adults she met online, and the investigation that followed her death. We revisit the evidence against Dos Reis, his convictions for manslaughter and sexual assault, and the federal charges stemming from his contact with Christina.
