They lowered the boom overnight on student protests at major universities. After multiple deadlines to vacate occupied areas at Columbia University in New York, police moved in using heavy machinery to gain access to the second floor and take back the building. And he's the hero of last night’s baseball game between the LA Dodgers and the Arizona Diamondbacks. Not a pitcher or a slugger who hit a grand slam…the hero of the game was a beekeeper! Les Trent explains why. Plus, the FBI reports a staggering $3.4 billion dollars has been lost by senior citizens to various financial scams. This 74-year-old woman says she was a victim and cops say she tried to fix her financial woes by robbing a bank! And there are currently more than 50 weight loss drugs in clinical development from about 40 companies. However, for now, the supply isn't meeting the demand. Inside Edition’s Alison Hall spoke with a number of women driving hundreds of miles to get their prescriptions filled.

The student protests happening across the country have moved into a new phase. Demonstrators are not only setting up tent cities on campuses, but they are now moving inside - taking over school buildings. As Les Trent reports, some are barricading themselves in using school furniture and zip ties. And a grandmother was home watching the Taylor Swift concert movie with her four-year-old granddaughter when a home invader burst in. However, he picked the wrong lady to mess with - she had a gun. As Jim Moret reports, the granny was not charged and instead of being taken to jail the bad guy went to the hospital. Plus, Police and fish and wildlife officials are investigating a situation in which party goers on a boat were filmed dumping their trash into the ocean. Within minutes of this video going viral, outraged citizen sleuths were posting information about the boat and its owner to speed up the investigation! And four years after she went missing on a Mother’s Day bike ride, toxicology results are in for Suzanne Morphew...and it's now confirmed she had an animal tranquilizer in her system. Investigators did find a dart gun and empty darts in her husband's gun case - but he has always maintained that he is innocent says those items were for hunting.

More than half of all American households have a dog…so if you want to be a national political figure, it's probably not a good idea to shoot a dog, and then brag about it in a book. Word is South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem might have torpedoed her chances of being Donald Trump's VP pick. The backlash has been fierce – however, as Ann Mercogliano reports, the governor is doubling down. And you may have seen President Biden delivering zingers at this weekend's White House Correspondents’ dinner...but what you probably haven't seen was the chaos outside where the big names of Hollywood and media were confronted by pro-Palestinian demonstrators. Plus, the mayor of a Florida city is weighing in on that video of a distraught Gisele Bundchen telling an officer that paparazzi have been unrelenting. Les Trent reports the mayor told him it was unacceptable, he thought the cop should have been more understanding. And Dance Moms fans have reason to celebrate as cast members come together for a reunion...but where is Abby Lee Miller? Was the hot-tempered coach really not invited?

It's got to be one of the weirdest birthday wishes ever: as Donald Trump was entering court for the fourth day of testimony in his hush money trial, the former president wished his wife, Melania, a Happy Birthday. Of course, the trial is about payments made to a porn star with whom he allegedly had sex while his wife was pregnant with their son. Ann Mercogliano is at the courthouse.  And, they started their college careers in isolation and it's ending in chaos. The class of 2024 started university in the midst of the pandemic and now for many, college commencement is being marred by protests over Palestine. Steven Fabian has more.  Plus, if you're drunk, airlines have the right to deny you a seat on the plane. It's a rule of passenger flight that can help deal with travelers who may be over-served at airport bars. Lisa Guerrero reports.  And, in her new movie Challengers, Zendaya plays a tennis star-turned-coach, and her wardrobe has started a fashion trend.

Inside Edition for Thursday, April 25, 2024

It was a historic day for Donald Trump. In Washington, the Supreme Court heard arguments on whether he should have presidential immunity in his election interference case. While in New York, his hush money trial moved forward. While adult film star Stormy Daniels is at the center of the case it's actually another woman who may be called as a witness that court watchers say makes Trump nervous - former Playboy model Karen McDougal. Ann Mercogliano tells us why. And today it was announced that disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein’s 2020 rape conviction is being overturned because an appellate court found he didn't get a fair trial. Now we're getting exclusive reaction from the foreman of the jury that convicted Weinstein in what was considered a pivotal moment of the “Me Too” era. Plus, two Americans went to Turks and Caicos for some fun in the sun. Now, they're trapped in paradise, not allowed to leave after getting caught with ammunition in their luggage. As Les Trent reports, they are just two of eight Americans arrested after a ban on bringing ammunition to the island was enforced  And if you have a cat, you've probably caught it climbing into empty boxes. However, one feline picked the wrong box! It was from Amazon and as Jim Moret reports, the kitty ended up being shipped out on a six day journey.

This was not a regular day at the barber shop....when two barbers spotted a toddler running alone towards a busy intersection they dropped their scissors and ran into action. As Les Trent reports, these guys are definitely a cut above the rest! And jurors in the Trump hush money trial have the day off as testimony will resume tomorrow in the case. The judge still has not ruled on whether to hold the former president in contempt of court for repeated violations of his order not to talk about participants in the case. However, some observers suggest Mr. Trump would welcome a jail sentence - for political gain. Plus, he was driving a loaner car while his own car was in the shop when he was pulled over. Within moments, the driver was terrified he was going to be shot by officers. As Jim Moret reports, he was innocent and it was all a big mistake. And there's a new product on the market…robot dogs armed with flame throwers are now being sold to the general public. Not everyone thinks that's such a good idea.
