Monster of the Miramichi dead at 78

In 1989, serial killer and rapist Allan Legere terrorized the Miramichi region for six months, leaving four people dead and a community shaken. Clarification: in this episode, host Khalil Akhtar says that Fredericton "didn't want" a new provincial jail. To be more precise, the City of Fredericton approved the zoning amendment to allow a new provincial jail to be built near the Vanier Industrial Park, but the N.B. government cancelled that plan after pushback from residents. The project was later moved to Minto.
