    Recap of Ledyard Classic and Road Game at Quinnipiac, Gearing Up For UMass Home @ Home This Weekend

    On today's all new edition of 7th Corner to kick off the New Year, we recap the Huskies recent holiday jaunt up to Hanover, NH where they came with a split and finished 3rd in the Ledyard Classic. We dissect both games against Providence and their convincing OT win against University of Alaska Anchorage, and talk about how they came away with a moral victory facing the jaws of defeat yet again and how they were able to turn the tide in the final seconds. We also talk about their massive road win last weekend against Quinnipiac which marks the Huskies first victory over the Bobcats since 2002, and talk about all the major players who displayed the Huskies grit and resolve against a nationally ranked team. We also gear up for this weekend's home at home against UMass and the Skating Strides breast cancer awareness night game on Friday, and talk about how this series is critical to ensure that this season is not a total loss, and what they need to do the rest of the way to keep their heads afloat.

    Recap of UNH, Brown & Merrimack Games Heading Into Christmas Break

    On today's edition of 7th Corner, we recap the Huskies recent games at home against UNH and Brown that saw them splitting the series, and how their recent struggles are indicative of their shortcomings on defense and failing to hold up their end of the bargain when it comes to holding down the opposition's defense. We talk about how they almost blew a 3-0 lead against Brown, and what the Huskies need to do better when it comes to closing out big leads down the stretch. We talk about their surprising road loss against Merrimack, a team that is floundering in the Pairwise and how that humiliating loss is a reminder of how far the Huskies have fallen in recent times, and what they can do to right the ship before this season turns into a lost cause and point of no return midway through the season.

    Recap of BC Home @ Home & Bentley Game, Preview of This Weekend's Home Games Against UNH & Brown

    On today's all new 7th Corner, we recap the Huskies home at home matchup against #3 ranked Boston College that saw the Huskies split the affair, and come away with their first conference victory of the season in a sold out Matthews Arena. I give you my main takeaways from the matchup, including how the Huskies avoided a lost season in the process by coming up with a morale boosting win that will serve them well as they look to close out before the holiday break on a winning note. I also recap their post-Thanksgiving matinee matchup against Bentley and how they were firing on all cylinders throughout that game, and how they were able to carry over the momentum from their BC home win. I also give you a preview of this weekend's home games against UNH & Brown that are the last games at Matthews for the year, and what the Huskies need to do to stay hungry and motivated.

    Recap of UNH Home @ Home, Preview of Massive BC Home @ Home Tilt

    On today's edition of 7th Corner, we recap last weekend's home at home series against UNH that saw the Huskies drop the road contest on Friday, but come away with the shootout win on Saturday at Matthews to salvage the extra point in the weekend contest. We talk about some of Northeastern's shortcomings when it comes to staying out of the penalty box which is something that the Huskies have had a hard time doing as of late as they had the 2nd game in a row that saw them incur a major 5 min penalty. We talk about their inability to forecheck and their difficulties when it comes to scoring first in the game., plus we talk about this weekend's huge home at home series against Boston College at Conte Forum, and how the Huskies can steal a win on the road by playing to the strengths of their defensive core in Jackson Dorrington and Vinny Borgesi, while taking their game and throwing the Eagles off balance.

    Recap of Providence Home @ Home Series, Look Ahead To This Weekend's UNH Home @ Home Action

    On today's episode of 7th Corner, we examine last weekend's home at home series against Providence where the Huskies came away with a shootout win at Schneider Arena in Providence last Friday, but fell short in OT at Matthews on Saturday. We examine some key takeaways from both games, including the emergence of freshman Joe Connor who has come out of nowhere to make a big impression on the stat sheet, and establish himself as a formidable presence in the Huskies lineup. We also talk about some issues the Huskies had on Saturday night, including some issues in the penalty box including a huge one that resulted in Providence coming away with the victory in OT that put a sour taste in some fan's mouths. We talk about what the Huskies can do to improve on the discipline side and start picking up some wins and points consistently, as they get ready for this weekend's home at home against UNH.

    On today's edition of 7th Corner, we examine the state of the Huskies coming fresh off an early bye week to dissect their home series loss of Maine in a sweep, and examine what went wrong and determine if some injuries are the root cause of the Huskies early struggles or if there are other factors at play. We recap each game from the Maine series two weeks ago, and take away some positives that the Huskies can hang their hat on, and how clutch Cam Lund has been coming in with a flurry of goals to start the year at a torrid pace, and how Vinny Borgesi has been coming through clutch in some key situations along with freshman Nick Rhéaume. We also take a look ahead to this weekend's home at home series against Providence and what the Huskies need to do to come away with clutch wins in both games to keep ahead in the point count in the standings early during conference play.

    On today's edition of 7th Corner, we recap the Huskies journey out west to face the defending national champions Denver and break down what went wrong as they got swept in both games. We also highlight some of the key moments from the games, including some bright spots for the Huskies and how they were able to stem the tide and fend out the feisty Denver Pioneers and kept the games from becoming a blowout each night. We also preview this weekend's home matchup against Maine on Family Weekend, and talk about how the Huskies can regroup and better prepare themselves this time around, including scoring first which is indicative and present within their hockey DNA.

    Recap of Stonehill Season Opener, Preview of Road Matchup vs. Denver

    On today's episode of 7th Corner, we recap the Huskies season opener against Stonehill where they came away with a 5-1 win. I talk about the key moments of the game, and how the Huskies persevered and came back from an early 1-0 deficit and responded less than a minute later. I talk about NU's versatility and interchangeability on offense, and how that will be a problem for the opposition moving forward. I recap some of the key plays of the game, and how they completely shut down Stonehill from that point forward and ensuring their path to victory. I also take a quick peek of their road matchup against the defending NCAA Champions Denver and how the Huskies could potentially play the role of spoiler as Denver raises their championship banner this weekend.

    2024-25 Northeastern Men's Hockey Preview w/ Joey Maiullari

    On today's season premiere of the 7th Corner podcast, we're joined by my good pal Joey Maiullari to share his insight as Northeastern's Men's Hockey kicks off their season this Saturday at 7pm at Matthews Arena against Stonehill. We take a look at some of the new additions to the roster this year, and take a look at how they may make an immediate impact and where they fit in with the line pairings as well. We take a look at the defensive pairings and how we've seen an increase in scoring on the defensive side over the past year. We also take a peek at the upcoming schedule and what will be the must watch games this year, including the matchups against BC and BU. We also talk about the future of Matthews Arena in what could potentially be the final year at Matthews, and how it's closing could impact the team and where they could play in the interim once the new arena is completed.
