The Woman Behind Avril Lavigne's Biggest Hits - Lauren Christy (Ep. 43)

Lauren Christy helped create the soundtrack of an entire generation. Before she was writing songs like "Complicated," "Sk8er Boi," "I'm With You," and countless other hits, she was a songwriter trying to find her place in an industry that didn't always know what to do with her. In this episode of Behind The Wall, Lauren takes us through her incredible journey from aspiring artist to one of the most influential songwriters and producers of the last two decades. We talk about forming The Matrix, discovering Avril Lavigne, creating the songs that helped define the 2000s, and the reality of what happens after your life changes overnight. But this conversation isn't just about hit songs. It's about betting on yourself when nobody else sees the vision. It's about surviving the uncertainty that comes before success. And it's about what it really feels like when the thing you've spent your entire life chasing finally happens. This conversation is for YOU if: 🔥 You're a songwriter, artist, producer, or creative chasing a dream 🔥 You grew up on the music of the 2000s and want to hear the stories behind it 🔥 You've ever wondered how songs like "Complicated," "Sk8er Boi," and "I'm With You" were actually made 🔥 You've ever felt like success was taking longer than it should What hit me most wasn't just hearing the stories behind these records. It was hearing Lauren talk about the years before anyone knew her name, the setbacks, the sacrifices, and the moments where everything could have gone differently. So many people know these songs. Very few know the story of the woman who helped create them. Lauren, thank you for your honesty, your generosity, and for helping shape the music that so many of us grew up with. I Sang On Stage With Coldplay

For my whole life, my biggest dream felt impossible.I dreamed of one day singing on stage with Coldplay. I had no idea how it would happen, and most of the time I honestly didn't believe it ever could, but I held onto that dream anyway. This video is not just about me singing on stage with my favorite band. It is about what can happen when you give yourself permission to dream bigger than what you thought was possible. My mission with Behind The Wall has always been to help the next generation of creatives believe in themselves, stay curious, and keep going. Coldplay played a huge part in shaping that mindset for me, and I'll always be grateful for how their music helped me keep moving forward, especially when I was sick in the hospital and having surgeries every six months for my childhood and teenage life.I hope one kid out there watches this and feels inspired the same way Coldplay inspired me years ago. That is why this is the most important video I've put out so far. Because I remember what Coldplay did for me, and if I can do that for someone else, it is one of the greatest gifts of all.And for anyone in a hospital room right now, or going through something that feels bigger than you, I remember what it feels like to not know how things will turn out. Please keep believing. Keep going. Keep dreaming.I want to thank everyone who helped me get here, every friend who encouraged me, every artist who trusted me with their story, every person who watched even one of my videos, and everyone who supported this journey behind the scenes. And thank you to Coldplay, Chris Martin, Phil Harvey, Will Champion, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, and the entire team for helping make this moment possible. And most importantly, thank you to every single person who liked, shared, or supported the original TikTok and YouTube Short that helped make this dream come true.I also want to dedicate this video to my mom and my grandfather.Happy Mother's Day, Mom. I wanted to release this video for Mother's Day because my mom believed in me before I believed in myself. She believed in me no matter how big my dreams were. She stayed in the hospital with me through every surgery and was always there whenever I needed her. I love you forever, and I'm so grateful to have you as my mom.To my grandfather, who is no longer with us, you showed me what it means to work hard and chase something with your whole heart, even when society didn't think you could. Love you forever.Through every medical challenge and difficult time, you both helped me believe in myself, keep going, and dream bigger than what I thought was possible. I’m forever grateful to both of you.If you're a creative and your dreams feel impossible, I hope this video reminds you that impossible things can happen. Because if I can sing on stage with my favorite band, there's no limit to what is possible. Now it's your turn to follow your dreams and Everglow!

How Diplo Became BTS & BLACKPINK's Music Producer (Ep. 37)

Diplo didn’t follow a traditional path into music. From studying film and discovering global sounds, to building Major Lazer and collaborating across genres with artists like BTS and BLACKPINK, his career has been defined by one thing: doing what others weren’t willing to try.In this episode, Diplo breaks down how some of the world’s biggest songs started as ideas that didn’t make sense at first, and why that’s often exactly where the best music comes from. But this conversation goes way beyond the songs. Meet The Real Singer of The Greatest Showman (Loren Allred Interview - EP. 36)

This might be the first time Loren Allred has ever shared her full story from beginning to now. Most people know Loren as the voice behind “Never Enough” from The Greatest Showman, one of the most powerful vocal performances in modern film. But very few people know the years that led up to that moment or the long road she took before the world ever heard her name.Loren grew up in a musical family, trained as a singer, and at one point had a developmental deal with Ne-Yo and Island Def Jam. It was her big break, the moment everything seemed to be happening at once. And then almost overnight, it all disappeared. The deal fell apart, the momentum vanished, and she found herself back at zero, unsure of how to move forward.Instead of quitting, Loren went into the shadows of the industry, recording demos and session vocals for other artists with no guarantee any of it would lead to a career. Those years of anonymity eventually led to The Voice, where she spent a full year preparing for the show, only to watch most of her journey turn into a montage that almost no one saw.And then something unexpected happened. She was asked to demo a song for a film musical that no one had heard of yet. That song became “Never Enough.” When the film came out, millions of people around the world fell in love with her voice without knowing who it belonged to. It was one of the strangest kinds of breakthroughs: the world heard her, but they didn’t see her. And even then, it took more time before Loren stepped out from behind the character and became an artist in her own right. What moved me in this conversation was not just the music. It was Loren’s resilience. Her belief in her craft. The years spent unseen. The almost-breaks that fell apart. And the patience it took to wait for her moment without knowing if it would ever arrive. This interview is for you if:• you are a singer, songwriter, or performer trying to find your way• you have ever been close to success and watched it slip away• you have worked for years without recognition• you believe in late bloomers and second (or third) acts• you love hearing how creative careers actually unfoldTo me, Loren’s story is a reminder that the industry rarely rewards people instantly. Sometimes it takes years. Sometimes it takes heartbreak. Sometimes it takes a role where the world hears you before they know your name. But if you stay in it long enough, your moment finds you.Loren, thank you for trusting us with your story and for letting people see the journey behind the voice that so many already love.📘 FREE PDF: 15 Lessons from The Greatest Minds in Music → https://nas.io/behindthewall/products/dxue🧢 Behind The Wall Merch Drop👕 Be one of the first 150 people and get 20% off with code: WALL20 → https://behindthewall.tv/collections/all⬇️ More of LorenSpotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/0LyOADBjj28cbvJWTXUEGA?si=J-dC2-DOSy-_pGcmDgbHyw Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lorenallred/?hl=enSpotify: https://www.tiktok.com/@lorenallredofficial YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@lorenallred ⬇️ More of Daniel Wall📺 YouTube: / @danielswall📸 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/danielwall/📱 TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@danielswall
