    Dennis Holdren

    Episode 187 is on the scene and we welcome veteran racer Dennis Holdren to the show. Dennis is coming off a Budweiser Limited Sportsman win at South Boston Speedway on Saturday and he tells us about his weekend and how he connected with Craig Moore this past off season to obtain this ride this season. He also talks to us about having someone ask to drive for him which he has never truly had in his career before, whether he still has his modified and late model, plans for racing his mod-4/mini stock and he discusses his dance moves. Do we have a new rivalry on our hands with Peyton Sellers and Landon Pembelton? We discuss this following their eventful battle this past weekend at South Boston plus we discuss the rest of Feed Halifax Race Night featuring Landon Milam becoming the all time Dollar General Hornets division leader, Jay Hemenway's first Pure Stock win, Johnny Layne continuing his winning ways and Tristan Brunelli's first Limited win in over a year. It was another eventful weekend at Bowman Gray Stadium. We discuss the impact of Slate Myers first modified win as he joined Uncle Jason as a fellow winner on Saturday, Zack Ore's attempt at a sweep in Sportsman, Jordan Atkins big first in in Street Stock and more from the Madhouse. Landon Huffman and Ronnie Bassett Jr had the crowd on its feet at Tri County on Saturday which saw Huffman take the win. We discuss that as a part of our dubs segment.  We talk about the All Star Race from Dover which saw Denny Hamlin take the win. We discuss the format, what we liked and didn't like and what we would like to see the format going forward and where it should be.  We preview the big ASA STARS National Tour doubleheader from Hickory and Tri County, spotlight some of the other short tracks this weekend, and weigh in on how we think Katherine Legge will do in her attempt to run the Indy 500 and Coke 600 on the same day.     Brandon Carr

    Episode 186 is on the scene! Brandon Carr is an 18 year old  racer from the UK who is looking to make his mark in the United States. He's won British Karting championships including the prestigious Kartmasters Championship. For the past couple of years, he has set his sights on becoming a NASCAR driver. His journey has taken him from the dirt tracks driving for Keith Kunz Motorsports to victory lane in the first IHRA Stock Car Series Pro Late Model event at Pulaski County Motorsports Park. Brandon joins us this week to talk about his unique journey from across the pond and the adjustments he had to make visiting some of the South's toughest short tracks for the first time. He also tells us how he hooked up with Setzer Development, which Daytona 500 winning Crew Chief has been his mentor and some advise he has received from Kaden Honeycutt.  Speaking of Honeycutt, he made history over the weekend by not only winning his first ARCA Menards and Craftsman Truck Series events of his career at Watkins Glen on Friday but capturing a sweep of both the CARS Tour Pro and Late Model Stock events at Ace Speedway on Saturday. We spoke to Kaden about his unique accomplishment. We also review the entire weekend from Ace where you will hear comments from Pro Late Model runner up Jake Johnson, Late Model runner up Treyten Lapcevich, points leader Caden Kvapil and Doug Barnes Jr. Are we overplaying the Honeycutt sweep from the weekend? We will also discuss that topic and more.  Just when you think Shane Van Gisbergen has amazed you enough on road courses, he does something even more amazing. He made up nearly 30 seconds on the track on Sunday on a long green flag run and ended up winning by nearly 8 seconds. Is he already the best of all time?     Brian Rundstrom Jr

    Episode 184 is on the scene and we welcome Budweiser Limited Sportsman competitor from South Boston Speedway Brian Rundstrom Jr to the show. We discuss capturing his first win recently at the speedway, his upbringing in the sport and much more! Carson Hocevar captured his first Cup Series win of his career on Sunday at Talladega and his celebration afterwards will be talked about for years to come. We discuss how long it will be before it is banned, whether or not he has moved into the superstar category and the other storylines coming out of the event. The CARS Tour event at Caraway took place a day later than scheduled because of rain but it certainly didn't lack excitement in either the Pro Late Model or Late Model divisions. Landen Lewis overcame an early penalty which sent him to the rear of the field to win the late model event but he wasn't the only one who had to charge to the front after early adversity. We break down the day at Caraway which saw us revisit the topic of the ownership group having cars compete in each race. We also discuss the latest stop on the SMART Modified Tour which saw Danny Bohn pick up yet another win on tour. We break down the night from America's Favorite Bullring here on the show! Pulaski County Motorsports Park held it's first weekly racing show since 2023 and DLN was on the scene for this event and we discuss what all went down this past Saturday.     Episode 183 is on the scene and we welcome a couple of first time winners from Bojangles Race Day at South Boston Speedway on Saturday night.  Cameron Moss started racing off of a bet with his family and on Saturday, it paid off as he won his first career Hornets Division race at the speedway. He tells us about his struggles to get to this point, his struggles on race day just to get the car on property after his truck wouldn't start, his off the radar hobbies and so much more! Jarrett Johsonn picked up his first Southside Disposal Pure Stock win on Saturday and he tells about his road to get to where he is today. He discusses his race on Saturday, his background in the sport and much more. We also hear from the other winners on Saturday Drew Dawson and Brian Rundstrom Jr in Budweiser Limited Sportsman and Trevor Ward in Late Models.     Former NASCAR Champion Crew Chief Paul Andrews

    Episode 182 is on the scene and we welcome former NASCAR Cup Series Championship winning crew chief Paul Andrews to the show. Andrews talks to us about how the Kulwicki Driver Development Program got started, the decisions that go into coming up with the finalists and some stories including breaking into the business, stories about Alan Kulwicki, thoughts of the current product of racing and having his son's involved in the sport including one who was on a Daytona 500 winning team.  Ty Gibbs is at long last a winner in the Cup Series. We discuss the youngster's first win in the Cup Series, debate if Gibbs is a bonafide title contender, whether or not the race at Bristol was a good race or a bad race. We discuss William Byron's bad day at Bristol, debate whether Blaney and Larson should've taken tires at the end and more from Bristol We put our boots on and head to Nashville Fairgrounds to discuss the CARS Tour event on Saturday. We breakdown the event by discussing Caden Kvapil's second win of the season, the pace of the event, how lapped traffic played a part in and our opinion of how successful the weekend was coming off the heels of a race that saw plenty of carnage.     Penn Sauter and Kristian Armstead

    Episode 181 is on the scene and we end our 2026 Kulwicki Driver Development Program Series with third generation star Penn Sauter. Penn who is the son of former Craftsman Truck Series Champion Johnny Sauter and grandson of the legendary Midwestern competitor Jim talks to us about his upcoming season growing up in a racing family and if he faces any pressure to live up to the Sauter name and reputation.  Kristian Armstead grew up in Michigan but has settled in nicely in the South Boston area of Virginia racing in the Hornets Division. Last Saturday during Danville Toyota Race Night, him and his small team of three's hard work paid off with his first win ever at the speedway. Kristian joins us to discuss his career so far, what it means for him to win at a speedway that has seen so many legends do the same and overcoming some of the faster cars to claim his first win of what he hopes to be many.  Julian was at SoBo on Saturday and the boys reviewed  the other racing action from the Halifax County facility. From Trevor Ward picking up twin second place finishes to Peyton Sellers and Johnny Layne adding to their impressive career win totals in Late Models and Pure Stocks respectively to Jacob Derrick's late pass on Drew Dawson to win in Limiteds, it was quite the opening day for three of the track's four divisions.  We spoke with Bobby McCarty following his win in the second race. For McCarty, it has been a struggle the last few seasons getting his new team up and going and yes, there were times he thought it was over for him. Saturday proved otherwise by returning to victory lane just like Lee Pulliam did two weeks ago.  The SMART Modified Tour invaded Dominion Raceway on Saturday in a race absolutely dominated by Carson Loftin who grabbed his first win of 2026. We give our breakdown of the event which leads us to Hickory this weekend which we also preview. The zMAX CARS Tour boogies on down to Nashville Fairgrounds this weekend and DLN gives you the scoop on what it means for the tour and who will take home the checkered in both the Pro Late Models and Late Model Stocks in our race preview! We also discuss William Sawalich's first win in the O'Reilly Series, whether Corey Heim should be Chase Eligible while leading the points in the Truck Series despite missing two races (he's won two of the three he's been in) and whether Rockingham should always host an Easter Weekend O'Reilly/Craftsman Truck, ARCA triple header as we review the weekend from the Rock.     Hotdogs, Paperclips, Bullrings & Ryley Music

    Episode 180 is on the scene and we review our visits to the "Paper clip at Martinsville Speedway and the track known as America's Favorite Bullring at Wake County Speedway in North Carolina from over the weekend. We discuss the Cookout 400 Cup Series event. Chase Elliott picked up his first win of the year and second at the paper clip while putting respect on his crew chief Alan Gustafson's name. We discuss Denny Hamlin's day which started out dominant but ended up with an on track confrontation with Ryan Blaney, a vibration and coming up second behind Elliott. We debate if Ty Gibbs is the hottest driver on the circuit with his fifth straight event finishing no worse than sixth, the Bubba Wallace vs Carson Hocevar incident and whether this race exceeded expectations. Plus you will get to hear from some of the top finishers of the event.  Lee Pulliam made his O'Reilly Auto Parts debut Saturday and ended up in fifth place in what was an eventful debut for him. We discuss that, Justin Allgaier's win, Corey Day's rise to the front and the continued success of Viking Motorsports with comments from some of the top finishers including Pulliam. Stephen Kopcik picked up his first NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour win at Martinsville and you will hear from this young man following his battle with Ron Silk on Saturday night. Silk also talks with Jody about his run and we discuss Austin Beers continuation of history and the new points leader Tyler Rypkema, The CARS Tour visited America's Favorite Bullring at Wake County Speedway. When the smoke and the fuel had settled, Conner Jones picked up a win after he ran out of gas late in the going. We spoke with Conner along with some of the other top finishers of the event as there was a lot to be said! We discuss what led to so many folks running out of gas, why there was so much carnage in the event, Clay Jones being black flagged, Mini vs Doug Barnes Jr round two & more.
