  1. the business meeting

    the business meeting

i have created an innovative, sleek, simple and universal firefighter helmet chin strap. i applied for a patent for it last year and received the patent-pending label. i also make tool holsters, radio holsters and belts. i made up a bunch of samples. this is a recording that i made of the initial business meeting that took place between me and a prominent uniform center owner (and Cal Fire Engineer Firefighter working at the Ben Clark Training Center in Riverside, CA) about the products. in it, you will hear that there is implied consent to make the audio recording, setup in the first 30 seconds alerting him to the recording in progress. it should also be mentioned that the recorder was clearly visible during the meeting. this implies many things, but the most important is the verbal agreement setup for 12 chin straps and 6 tool holsters. up until this point, the business owner has ghosted me and won't return my emails taking delivery of the gear he has ordered. UPDATE (7/10/2026) - received an email response for good faith feedback about the products that were ordered during this meeting. keep in mind, the products that were delivered were NOT for feedback and the mentioned belt was a product demo/gift. the business owner seems to have no interest in making good on his order. does this embody the ethics of a Cal Fire Training Engineer and Uniform Center Owner? it seems we are going to small claims court. here is the feedback: ------------------------------------------------- So, out of the items the best response was with the belt. I handed out a couple of the chin straps and got some feedback: Not able to adjust or sinch down at all. Smells like vinegar? Cant unlock clasp easily, and with gloves impossible almost. No shielding between the clasp and face. If it gets hot it could burn up against face area. Tool Holster: too heavy.
