In 1969, Apollo 11 was the first crewed mission to land on the Moon.

Or was it?

According to conspiracy theorists, it's obvious that the moon landing was faked. Now, I don't usually pay much attention to such claims, but a few days ago Joe Rogan published a new episode of his podcast, in which he hosted none other than Bart Sibrel himself, giving him a platform to spread his anti-science nonsense to millions of people around the world.

So, as a scientist, more specifically an astrophysicist, I feel that it is my duty to debunk his claims one by one and to explain the science behind the Apollo 11 mission.

The Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) has taken high-definition photos of the Apollo landing sites, capturing the Lunar Module descent stages and the tracks left by the astronauts. The multiverse has captured the imagination of scientists and thinkers for centuries, sparking debates in physics, philosophy, and beyond.

I’ve had the pleasure of exploring this issue with the leading expert in this field, physicist and author Paul Halpern. Halpern is a professor of physics at Saint Joseph’s University and the author of eighteen popular science books, including Flashes of Creation, The Quantum Labyrinth, Einstein's Dice, Schrodinger's Cat, and Synchronicity. He is the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship and is a Fellow of the American Physical Society. 

Halpern recently published The Allure of the Multiverse: Extra Dimensions, Other Worlds, and Parallel Universes, which tells the epic story of how science became besotted with the multiverse and the controversies that ensued.
