#030: God’s Jealous Love: When Everything Falls Apart

Are you feeling abandoned? This deeply personal episode offers a message of hope and resilience for anyone feeling abandoned, depressed, or at their lowest point. When everything falls apart - grief, trauma, poverty, fear - it can feel like God has left the room and He took everyone else with Him. In this episode, I share part of my own story of losing my earthly father, walking through a long season of darkness, and discovering that God’s jealous love had been holding me the whole time. We talk about what it really means when God calls Himself “a jealous God”, how He sits with us in the trauma instead of abandoning us, and why nothing we face can separate us from His love. You’ll also hear a brief reflection on the prodigal son and Romans 8:31–39 as anchors for those who feel far from God or at the end of themselves. This is a testimony in progress - expressing gratitude for what God has already done, and an honest confession that the journey is ongoing, but that His love is constant and trustworthy. #029 - Dealing with the spirit of intimidation

This episode delves into the pervasive nature of the spirit of intimidation, exploring its various manifestations, psychological impacts, and spiritual warfare strategies. Drawing on biblical narratives and scientific insights, the episode aims to equip you with understanding and tools to overcome its effects. TimeStamps 00:00 Intro Summary of all the parts 09:42 - Part 1 - The Python Spirit Intimidation is like as a "python" that constricts, silences, diminishes, and "chokes life" out of individuals. Intimidation is a multi-faceted attack, involving both psychological manipulation and spiritual oppression, often leading to learned helplessness and self-sabotage. Sources of Teaching: Insights are drawn from Dr. Russ Irwin (neuroscience and faith) and Apostle Joshua Selman (Koinonia). 31:45 - Part 2 - Jealous intimidation - when God moves on The Root of Jealousy: When God elevates someone, it can provoke jealousy in others, leading to intimidation. Biblical Example: The story of King Saul's escalating jealousy and relentless pursuit of David. 42:40 - Part 3 - Silent weapons of intimidation (Drawing from Psalm 35) Subtle Tactics: Intimidation often operates not through overt confrontation but through subtle, persistent actions. Psalm 35 is highlighted as a prayer for those experiencing these tactics. Key "Weapons": False Witnesses & Legal Manipulation: Twisting facts, lying, using systems (like legal or workplace policies) against someone, and accusing them of things they haven't done. Repaying Good with Evil: Those you have helped may turn against you when you face difficulties. Smear Campaigns & Reputation Sabotage: Devised false accusations, backbiting, and malicious talk aimed at damaging one's name and reputation. Gloating Over Distress: Malicious satisfaction and joy taken from witnessing someone else's struggles or downfall. Gaslighting: Denying reality, making you question your own perception and sanity. These tactics often aim to attack one's identity, self-worth, and core beliefs. 58:47 - Part 4 - Saying NO to the spirit of intimidation (Authority, Consent & Neuroscience) Intimidation does not possess power or authority over individuals unless consent is given. Research suggests intimidation can have effects similar to complex PTSD, leading to hypervigilance, emotional numbing, negative self-beliefs (upper limit syndrome), and a constant sense of danger. These create neurological pathways that work against one's well-being. Giving consent, even through agreeing with lies or learned helplessness, essentially invites intimidation spirits to stay. This agreement functions like waiving rights in the spiritual realm. 01:04:40 - Part 4B - Joy as the antidote The Antidote: Joy: Joy is a spiritual and neurological act of rebellion. It's not about denying hardship but about rebelling against the oppressive spirit. Joy causes God to move and opens capacity for His goodness.Reclaiming Your Power: Choosing joy, worship, singing, speaking God's word, and taking bold, ethical action tells the nervous system and the spirit world that you refuse to be constricted. Prayer and speaking God's word can actively rewire the brain.01:12:46 - Part 5 - Prayer + slight homework Psalm 35 reading as a prayer- 2 activities for you to do this week that rebels against the spirit of intimidation 01:20:35 - Part 6 - Important reminder + outro Remember who you are and why this is happening to you- The devil doesn't go after just anyoneRemember what you need to do dailyFollow me on socials www.linktr.ee/joyogudeJoin My Substack Newsletter www.joyogude.substack.com The episode emphasises that despite the overwhelming nature of intimidation, you are equipped with spiritual and mental resilience, ultimately empowered by faith and joy. #028 - When God Fights for You | The Jehoshaphat Pattern (2 Chronicles 20)

What do you do when the battle in front of you is bigger than your strength, strategy, or certainty? In this episode, we unpack the story of King Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles 20 and the powerful pattern of prayer, surrender, worship, and divine intervention that unfolds when God fights for His people. This episode explores Jehoshaphat’s prayer (broken down into themes), why “we do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you” remains one of the most important lines in Scripture, and how this biblical pattern connects with Moses, Hezekiah, Esther, Gideon, David, Elijah, and Paul and Silas. Read the companion Substack article: “When God Fights The Jehoshaphat Pattern — and What It Means for Your Impossible Situation” based on 2 Chronicles 20. #026 - You're Not Broken, You're Being Rebuilt: Trusting God's Plan in Difficult Seasons

In this episode, I delve into the profound truth that life is a tapestry woven with both joy and pain. I begin by sharing a powerful analogy of childbirth, illustrating how immense pain often precedes the miracle of new life. This sets the stage for a heartfelt message directed towards those who may be feeling broken or lost, particularly women navigating through difficult seasons in their lives. I acknowledge the struggles of feeling isolated, grappling with grief, or facing unexpected life changes. Many of us find ourselves asking, "How did I get here?" and "Why is this happening to me?" I want to reassure you that you are not alone in these feelings. This episode is dedicated to those who feel like their lives have been shattered, and I aim to provide five essential insights that I believe God wants you to know during this challenging time. First, I emphasize the importance of surrendering to the process rather than resisting it. Life can feel overwhelming, and it’s easy to fight against the current. However, I encourage you to trust that there is a greater plan at work, even if you can't see it right now. Next, I share the comforting truth that you are divinely protected. Your existence is not a mere coincidence; there is a divine purpose for your life, and you are surrounded by protection that you may not even be aware of. I then address the concept of closure, explaining that it is not always necessary or attainable in the moment. Sometimes, understanding comes only after the journey has unfolded, and I urge listeners to focus on the present rather than seeking immediate answers. The fourth point I discuss is the existence of a bigger picture. God has a grand plan that extends beyond our understanding, and the challenges we face are part of a larger narrative that is being crafted for our growth and the benefit of others. Finally, I conclude with the powerful reminder that the end of your journey will be extraordinary. The trials you are experiencing are not in vain; they are shaping you for something greater. Your story will ultimately glorify God and serve as a testament to His power and grace. Throughout the episode, I encourage listeners to embrace their pain as a necessary part of their rebirth, much like the labor pains of childbirth. I remind you that you are not beyond repair; you are being transformed into a version of yourself that is grounded in grace and divine purpose. As we wrap up, I hope you leave with a sense of hope and reassurance that you are not forgotten. God knows you by name, and this season of pain has a purpose. Thank you for joining me, and I look forward to seeing you in the next episode. #025 - When God Says Your Isolation Is Over: From Hidden To Visible

This episode is for the woman God chose without warning – the one whose life flipped overnight, who lost relationships, identity and certainty in the same season, and called it “obedience” because that was the only language she had left. You didn’t ask to be hidden, but you were driven into isolation with God… and now you’re quietly wondering if the silence has done its job and quietly overstayed. We talk about the moment isolation stops being protection and starts becoming a prison, when your silence no longer shields what God is doing in you – it hides it. Through the story of Paul in Galatians 1 and the pattern of calling → isolation → community → bold visibility, we unpack why your fear at the edge of being seen is often confirmation, not condemnation, and why your silence has an expiry date. If you’re in the in‑between – no longer who you were, not yet who people expect you to be – this conversation will help you discern whether it’s time to step out, align, speak and be seen, so that people can one day “praise God because of you. The silence that once sheltered you can start hiding God's work in you. 3:38 — The Fear of God's Transcendence (Paul's Story)Fear enters not because God is unclear, but because He calls people into consequence, not comfort. Paul's radical calling in Galatians — obliterating his entire life — and his three years of isolation are explored. 8:37 — Fear Is Not the Problem — Stopping IsMoses, David, Paul, even Jesus feared. Fear confirms you're at the threshold of your calling. The problem is letting it stop you. 9:18 — The Watchers: Noise vs. Spiritual OppositionTwo types of watchers: wounded people projecting pain, and spiritual opposition. The enemy can't destroy you — so instead, they make you comfortable in isolation, turning your silence into a cage. 11:32 — No One Called by God Is Meant to Be Silent ForeverGod is a disruptor. 2 Peter 1:10 — "Make every effort to confirm your calling" — is an active, visible, intentional command, not a passive one. 13:43 — Paul's Obedience as EvidencePaul didn't convince people with words — he convinced them with his life. He let his testimony become the proof, and people who never met him still praised God because of him. 17:16 — The Pattern God UsesA breakdown of the four-stage pattern: (1) traumatic calling, (2) isolation & transformation, (3) community & alignment, (4) boldness & visibility. 18:03 — Stage 3: Community & AlignmentLike Paul seeking out Peter and James, God prepares you to fit your new environment and the people He places around you will recognize the God in you. 19:27 — Stage 4: Boldness & VisibilityThis is where fear peaks — and where silence becomes disobedience. You are 99% surrendered; this final 1% requires exposure. God has prepared you, and you are untouchable. 24:24 — Closing: The Other Side of FearOn the other side of fear is the moment people praise God because of you. That is worth everything.
