This is a story few will want to hear. Fewer still will be able to forget. In this Black Label episode of Obscura, Justin Drown guides listeners into the darkest corridors of human obsession—where fantasy becomes ritual, and desire descends into death. This is the case of Nguyen Dat, a physically ailing man from Vietnam whose grim fetish brought him to seek the ultimate surrender: his own beheading. Nguyen’s online trail was explicit. His posts across fetish forums and social media laid bare a singular wish—to be decapitated during sexual climax. But what began as text on a screen ended as leaked video, circulated for profit in hidden Telegram groups, showing every detail of Nguyen’s brutal, consensual execution and dismemberment. This episode exposes the eerie mechanics of digital extremism, cannibal subcultures, and the commodification of real-life death for online consumption. Nguyen was the “meat.” His killer, the “butcher.” The footage? A grotesque trophy passed among those who live in the margins of moral collapse.
