Jumping from K-pop to heavy metal to 80s electro to 2010s pop without missing a beat, his set was pure unpredictable energy. His story is incredibly inspiring: After being diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2016, he left his construction job the same day to pursue music full-time. Since then, he's played Berghain, Ultra, and now Coachella. Do LaB Safety Incident During John Summit's Friday night set at the Do LaB, a heavy lighting fixture fell from the stage due to strong winds, injuring an attendee and forcing the stage to close for the evening. Anyma's late-night set was also cancelled due to the weather conditions. Anyma's Redemption After the Friday cancellation, Anyma returned to close out the Do LaB stage with Marlon Hoffstadt, transforming his setback into one of the weekend's most talked-about moments. Story #5: Dance Music Goes to Space - "Sleepyhead" Wakes Up Artemis II AstronautsNASA shared the official wake-up playlist used by the Artemis II crew during their historic nine-day lunar flyby mission. Other tracks included Queen and David Bowie's "Under Pressure," Chappell Roan's "Pink Pony Club," and Glass Animals' "Tokyo Drifting." 070 - 10 Days In Dance! Amy tours Japan, Ibiza Preview and TML WINTER is ON

Episode OverviewWelcome back to 10 Days in Dance! After a brief hiatus, Adam K and Amy are reunited to catch up on all the incredible adventures, festival experiences, and electronic music news you need to know about. From Japan's Snow Machine Festival to the most stacked Ibiza season ever, this episode has it all. Amy's Japan Adventure: Snow Machine FestivalAmy just returned from an unforgettable trip to Japan, where she experienced her first-ever winter festival at Snow Machine in Hakuba. After swearing she'd never attend a winter festival, she's now completely hooked and already planning her trip to Tomorrowland Winter next year. Festival Highlights: Saw Hannah Laing for the first time (finally!) with fireworks and night skiing in the backgroundSteve Aoki playing "Turbulence" in the Japanese mountainsSub Focus performance (though Amy admits she watched from under a blanket after not dressing appropriately for the cold)Three-story festival setup with gondola access to mountaintop stagesMix of international and local acts with stage takeovers by Glitterbox, Rave Cave, and Womb The Not-So-Highlight: Amy's ambitious attempt to snowboard down the mountain during her set resulted in getting caught in a snowstorm, losing her board, and having to be rescued by ski patrol. Lesson learned: don't go to a winter festival without proper snowboarding skills (and appropriate clothing). Beyond the Festival: Explored Tokyo's legendary Womb nightclub for a dubstep showFirst time in a mosh pit (and survived thanks to being taller than most people in Japan)Visited the Shiba Inu Cafe in Harajuku (naturally dressed as a Harajuku girl, Gwen Stefani style)Ate incredible Michelin star Wagyu beef ramen and more Japanese cuisine than she can count Pro Tips for Snow Machine: Learn to ski or snowboard BEFORE you goDress in layers and invest in proper winter gearThe food is expensive by Japanese standards but incredible qualityPopular with Australian crowds who brought the signature "buzzing" hardstyle dance moves The Best Ibiza Season Ever?Adam makes a bold claim: 2026 might be the best Ibiza season in history based on lineups alone. Here's the breakdown: Hï Ibiza: John Summit on MondaysArmin van Buuren celebrating 25 years of A State of Trance with five 5-hour setsAnyma taking over Tuesdays with his new "Eden" conceptJamie Jones on WednesdaysFisher on ThursdaysGetter on FridaysElrow on SaturdaysCarl Cox on Sundays (including a back-to-back with David Guetta on July 26th and Chris Stussy) Ushuaïa: GetterTomorrowland presentsCalvin HarrisSwedish House Mafia Pacha: Solomun day partiesMal P on WednesdaysVintage CulturePurple Disco MachineCorolaRobin SchulzGordo doing TarakaSonny FoderaFrankie RizzottoBlondish Plus: Black Coffee at Universe (four shows)Medusa & James Hype launching "Our House" residency at Hï Ibiza every Wednesday (May 27 - September 30)The season now runs from April 5th (Pacha opening) through the end of October The Challenge: With so many incredible lineups across multiple venues every night of the week, the biggest problem is choosing where to go. It's the "too much on the menu" syndrome, but for clubbing. London's Festival BoomLondon is having a major moment with an unprecedented number of high-quality events: Recent Highlights: Fred Again at Alexandra Palace with special guests including Mike Skinner, Underworld, and Thomas Bangalter (playing "One More Time")Solomun at Alexandra PalaceSammy Virgo upcoming at Alexandra Palace Venues & Events: XOYO reopeningMinistry of Sound refurbishedFabric celebrating longevityDrum Sheds hosting Drumcode eventsFinsbury Park eventsNew castle venue announced by Anyma for AugustJames Hype & Medusa launching their own festival on the Thames in London (August)John Summit taking over a stately home Adam notes this represents a "land grab" moment where established artists are going independent, following the Tiësto model of breaking away from promoter brands to do their own events. Other Festival NewsA State of Trance Highlights: Armin presented by Ruben de Ronde in an emotional momentBack-to-back-to-back with Maddix and Oliver Heldens (High/Low)Ruben de Ronde's standout set Hannah Laing: Taking a step back from her Ibiza residency this year to focus on her mental health and well-being, though she'll still be performing globally. A brave and positive decision that Adam applauds. Upcoming Season: La Core Festival (Los Angeles) with Maluma, Eric Prydz, Fortet, Hannah Laing, ArtbatLa Core Melbourne later this yearTomorrowland Belgium (both weekends)Tomorrowland Thailand (December)Tomorrowland Winter - Adam performing at Orbiz stage on Wednesday and opening the Zoo bar at 1am Thursday night/Friday morningADE celebrating a milestone anniversary with Jean-Michel Jarre doing soundtracks Amy's Summer Plans: Parookaville (Germany) - multi-day festival, same weekend as Tomorrowland Weekend 1, excited to finally see Cascada and ScooterElectrisize (Germany) - hardstyle/hard dance multi-day festivalPossibly Ibiza Special AnnouncementThanks to listener Frank, 10 Days in Dance now has official stickers! 069 - 10 Days In Dance - Adam + Amy with news on Festivals, Trips, Music and LIFE

Summary In this episode of "10 Days in Dance," hosts AdamK and Amy Farina, also known as MC Unicorn, kick off the new year with a personal catch-up and reflections on their experiences in the dance music scene. They discuss their holiday activities, including Amy's recent concert experience at Electric Callboy, where she enjoyed a unique blend of metal and EDM. The conversation flows into their thoughts on New Year's resolutions, social media trends, and the importance of celebrating personal milestones, as they both reflect on their past years and the impact of social media on self-expression. As the episode progresses, Adam and Amy delve into upcoming music festivals, their excitement for new music releases, and the evolving landscape of the dance music industry. They touch on the significance of festivals as a form of escapism and the need for artists to create music that resonates with audiences. The hosts also share their goals for the year, including Amy's aspirations to attend more international festivals and interview prominent artists, while Adam emphasises the importance of mindfulness and connection through music. Overall, the episode is a lively mix of personal anecdotes, industry insights, and a shared passion for dance music. AdamK Headphone review - Beyerdynamic DJ 300 Pro X Review The Beyerdynamic DJ 300 Pro X immediately stands out for its comfort and lightweight design. As someone who strongly prefers an over-ear fit, this model hits the mark. The foam ear pads are an excellent size, offering good coverage without feeling bulky, and they sit comfortably for extended sessions. One minor drawback is the construction of the foam pad side wall. There is slightly too much loose material, which tends to fold when removing the pads. From a usability and perception standpoint, this makes the fit feel a little saggy at times. Personally, I think this could be improved by fixing the material more securely to the foam pad itself, which would elevate the overall finish. That said, they do close off external sound extremely well when over the ear. That said, the headband and framing are genuinely excellent. Comfort is high, the weight distribution is well judged, and the rail detailing feels precise and premium. It is a design that inspires confidence and feels built for professional use. I have rotated between Sennheiser HD 25, AIAIAI TMA-2, and JBL Live 650 for studio DJing and radio studio work. After spending time with the DJ 300 Pro X, I can confidently say that these have taken prime position over all of them for DJ use. The clarity and definition in the mix are unmistakably pro-level, and I was genuinely surprised by the depth and separation achieved across the spectrum. The low-end response is not as full as some competitors', but the mid-range is excellent and highly musical. The top end is bright and detailed without becoming fatiguing, which makes beatmatching and long sessions far more enjoyable. Cable design is another area where Beyerdynamic has clearly paid attention. The coil spacing is perfectly judged, allowing freedom of movement without constantly tugging at the jack. The straight sections reduce excess weight and prevent the cable from bouncing around while performing. It is a small detail, but one that makes a real difference in practice. Overall, the Beyerdynamic DJ 300 Pro X delivers outstanding comfort, build quality, and professional-grade sound. With a small refinement to the ear pad construction, it would be close to flawless. As it stands, it is an easy recommendation for DJs working in studio or broadcast environments and has quickly become my go-to pair.
