Goldilocks and the Three Bears
Goldilocks and the Three Bears is a beloved fairy tale that has been told and retold for generations. The earliest known version was written in 1831 by Eleanor Mure as a handmade, rhyming verse story for her nephew, Horace Broke. A few years later, in 1837, Robert Southey introduced the first published narrative version of The Three Bears. Like Mure’s story, Southey also featured an old woman trespassing in the home of three bears, tasting their porridge, sitting in their chairs, and sleeping in their beds. Over the years of retellings, the old woman transformed into a young girl with golden hair, and in Flora Annie Steel’s version of this story, the name Goldilocks was introduced. This adaptation made the story more engaging for children, turning it into the timeless fairy tale loved across generations. Listen to this delightful retelling by Flora Annie Steel and join Goldilocks on her curious adventure into the home of the three bears! Visit our website to know more: https://squiryls.com
