    Stepping Off the Runaway Train

    Yesterday, a YouTube viewer left a comment about the suggestion that we can take a break from eating: "Are you a doctor? You shouldn't be giving advice like this." Their username? Runaway Train. Well, yes, I am a doctor and no I am not giving medical advice. But more importantly, that username is such a wonderful description of modern food culture that we have to lean into it. We’ve been conditioned to think that "frequent eating" is normal, but this constant consumption is a runaway train driving our collective metabolic health off a cliff. In this live session, we are pulling the emergency brake. Taking a break from eating, if we have weight to lose, is not some sort of irresponsible decision; it’s a rational, grounded way to give the body the digestive and metabolic space it desperately needs to heal, lower insulin, and achieve sustainable weight loss.     The "Transforming Fire" of Weight Loss (What It Takes)

    My goal on this channel is always to help you fast and lose weight as smoothly as possible. I am here to help you eliminate the friction and find your weight loss "flow state." But if we are being 100% real, finding that flow requires walking a fine line between deep compassion for yourself and absolute grit. Today I am bringing you footage I took on top of Roan Mountain in North Caroline. I hiked this mountain fasting to help us all look at the raw reality of personal transformation. This session is inspired by an intense passage in Brianna Wiest’s book, The Mountain Is You, that leans into the "transforming fire" of change. It tackles a heavy question that other weight loss channels stay far away from: 👉 "What are you willing to suffer for?" Let’s be clear: this isn’t about toxic restriction, extreme deprivation, or punishing your body. We want to remove every unnecessary barrier to success. But the reality is that breaking old habits is still going to feel uncomfortable sometimes. We are here to build a strong and powerful mindset that cannot be broken. To conquer this mountain, you need two things in your toolkit: Grace & Compassion: The space to breathe, forgive yourself, and ease into a natural rhythm without constant mental warfare. We are nurturing our way to health by finding love and thoughtfulness. Grit & Resolve: The willingness to stand firm when the fire gets hot, knowing that temporary discomfort is the price of permanent freedom.
