Best Never Again

Welcome to Mixed Flix! In this episode, we share a movie we love, but just can't watch again. Too sad, too much machete, too is this my life? The Picks… Green Room [2015] (Anthony) Inside Llewyn Davis [2013] (Rachel) What Dreams May Come [1998] (Tracey) AI [2001] (Nick) Our mixologist Tracey served up a "less is more" cocktail… The Hurricane Ingredients: 2 ounces light rum2 ounces dark rum1 ounce lime juice1 ounce orange juice1/2 ounce passion fruit puree1/2 ounce simple syrup 1 teaspoon grenadine Steps: Add the light and dark rums, lime and orange juices, passion fruit puree, simple syrup, and grenadine into a shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled.Strain into a tall glass over fresh ice.Garnish: lemon half-wheelGarnish: lime half-wheel If you liked this episode share it with your fellow movie nerds! The Picks… Billy Madison [1995] (Anthony) Summer School [1987] (Rachel) Election [1999] (Tracey) Fast Times at Ridgemont High [1982] (Nick) Our mixologist Kelly served up a teacher-inspired "after three o'clock" cocktail… The Appletini Ingredients: 1 1/2 ounces sour green apple schnapps1 1/2 ounces ginicegreen apple sliceslemon juice Steps: Add the green apple schnapps, gin, and fill the shaker halfway up with ice. Cap the shaker and shake briskly.Pour the strained cocktail into a martini glass.Garnish with green apple slices that have been brushed with lemon juice. The Picks… In Bruges [2008] (Nick) Near Dark [1987] (Anthony) Nightmare Alley [2021] (Rachel) Our mixologist Tracey dusted off the coupe glasses and served up a criminally underrated cocktail… The Sidecar Ingredients: 1 1/2 ounces cognac3/4 ounce orange liqueur3/4 ounce lemon juice, freshly squeezedGarnish: lemon sugar on the rim and an orange twist Steps: Coat the rim of a coupe glass with lemon sugar (lemon zest mixed with sugar).Add cognac, orange liqueur and lemon juice to a shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled.Strain into the rimmed coupe glass.Garnish with an orange twist.
