JOE DENICHOLAS: A BUDDHIST PSYCHOLOGIST TALKS ABOUT SUFFERING & SEEKING SANITY: EP. 327

JOE DENICHOLAS is a dynamic, challenging licensed therapist whose work bridges science, spirituality, and healing. With degrees in electrical engineering, business, and clinical social work, he brings a rare interdisciplinary perspective to both clinical practice and contemplative training.   For more than two decades, Joe has studied Buddhist psychology and trained with renowned meditation masters, helping individuals access deep transformation, clarity, and peace. He has guided hundreds through developing meaningful mindfulness and meditation practices. Earlier in his career, Joe contributed to the global shift toward energy-efficient lighting, earning multiple U.S. patents in integrated-circuit and semiconductor device design as an IC Design Engineer and Semiconductor Technologist.   Today, his work integrates Buddhist psychology in a secular way with modern neuroscience to relieve suffering and unlock the mind's natural capacity for wellbeing. He founded Unbreakable Inc., an organization dedicated to helping people rediscover resilience, goodness, and inner freedom through education, workshops, meditation, and therapy. In 2025, he published "Seeking Sanity:  How to Cultivate Peace, Happiness, and Wellbeing in a World Gone Mad" with Modern Wisdom Press. Joe talks about:   Actionable strategies to move from "getting through" life, to cultivating a life where you thrive in peace, happiness, and fulfillment. Moving beyond coping mechanisms to heal the root cause of affliction rather than addressing the symptoms alone. Why emotional mastery is absolutely critical to the leading of a fully authentic human life full of rich experiences. Why therapy is not nearly as effective as we need it to be given the scope of the mental health problem in today's society. There is no longer any excuse to continue suffering the way we are. Much of the mental health crisis comes down to a collective "learned helplessness." Let's learn how to break that down and engage the effective tools at our disposal. Accessing the lasting peace and happiness that exist within everyone's mind, without obscuring them by relying on external circumstances which leads to anxiety, depression, and ineffective strategies for well-being. Why are ethics so important to happiness, what mistakes are people often making in this area, and why?  What can be done about that? How to cultivate happiness and calm your nervous system in 15 minutes or less. Understanding how your mind has been structured and organized, how this organization obscures the place of peace and happiness, and how it can be reorganized to provide constant access to that peace. Understanding how habits really change and how discipline is actually cultivated.   www.unbreakableinc.com
