Each episode sits down with the players who have carried Caribbean sport, and gets past the highlight reel to the parts that do not usually make it into an interview. How they came up.     EP 3 Polly and Bravo PERFECT TIMING

    Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo are back with Jason Williams for episode three of Champions Corner. Bravo calls the IPL the life-changing tournament, and explains why: global reach first, financial stability second. Both of them landed in their peak years exactly as T20 took off in 2008 and 2009. Pollard says thank god for the inventors of the format, and thank god for Allan Stanford. Then it turns. Pollard describes the hardest walk he ever made off a ground, stumped against Sri Lanka at the Oval in 2009 with a crowd full of Caribbean people close enough to tell him he was not good enough. Both of them talk about what a loss actually does, and push back hard on the idea that West Indian players shake it off at the bar. Bravo is coaching now and his teammates still message him after a defeat to ask whether he has finished crying. Also in this episode: ninety thousand people in Kolkata, why Pollard is guaranteed runs in St Lucia, Bravo on Jamaica, the unbeaten CPL season, the 2012 World Cup, and eight months living out of a suitcase.

    EP 2 - Polly & Bravo ON THE BIG STAGE

    Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo are back with host Jason Williams for episode two of Champions Corner. Both born in Trinidad, both captains of other Caribbean franchises, and both have walked out at the Oval with the home crowd hoping they fail. One of them was booed there. The other never was, and he is happy to say which is which. Pollard revisits the six sixes in an over during the Covid season, hit in front of an empty ground, and whether a full crowd would have changed anything. Bravo picks the two catches he still goes back to on YouTube, and answers the people who called him lazy in the field. They go back to the beginning: how they actually met, the Queen's Park Cricket Club years, growing up in Malony Gardens and Santa Cruz playing every sport there was, and the moment each of them knew cricket was the one. Pollard remembers asking a young Trinidad player for a pair of gloves. Bravo does not remember it at all.
