    This week on The Upswing, WTMJ’s Jeff Sherman welcomes Wes Shaver, president and CEO of Revolve Ventures, to preview the inaugural Freshwater Food & Wine Festival, coming to the Summerfest grounds Sept. 19-20. Shaver shares how his career in Milwaukee’s entertainment and festival scene helped shape the new event and explains how Freshwater will showcase local chefs and restaurants while creating new opportunities for them beyond the traditional summer festival season. He also discusses the festival’s unique tasting format, sustainability efforts, charitable component, and his vision for eventually growing Freshwater into a Great Lakes regional event. Jeff wraps up the show with Starbucks’ Snoopy ambitions and a Netflix recommendation centered on community and doing good. 🎙️ The Upswing is presented by Horicon Bank.

    Wisconsin is back in action less than 24 hours after defeating Marquette in four sets Thursday night. Freshman Decelise Champion led the way with a career-high 20 kills and her first career double-double as the Badgers improved to 5-4. Now Wisconsin faces another in-state opponent in Milwaukee. The Panthers enter tonight at 5-3 and riding a five-match winning streak, setting up another Wisconsin showdown at the Field House. It’s the Badgers’ final tune-up before Big Ten play begins as Wisconsin looks to build momentum and pick up its second win in as many nights.

    Packers Are “Hall of Fame Flinchers,” O-Line Communication Breakdown & Can They Respond?

    On The Homer Hour, Steve “Homer” True and Gary Ellerson are still trying to understand how the Packers let another game completely unravel. Gary’s biggest concern remains an offensive line in “shambles,” especially after Green Bay spent the offseason evaluating Anthony Belton and Jagger Burton only to start Jacob Monk and Donovan Jennings. The guys question why changes weren’t made during the Vikings game and whether Belton and Burton could now find themselves in the lineup against the Jets. Homer believes he’s finally found the phrase that defines the Matt LaFleur Packers: “Hall of Fame flinchers.” Borrowing from Barry Alvarez’s Don’t Flinch philosophy, Homer argues Green Bay’s biggest issue isn’t simply toughness. When adversity arrives, one bad moment snowballs into another instead of the Packers settling down and regaining control. Gary pushes back on how much blame belongs specifically on LaFleur, leading to a debate over whether these late-game failures are really unique to this era. Gary also explains why the protection disaster against Brian Flores bothered him so much. Offensive linemen, tight ends and running backs all have to communicate against pressure packages, and Gary says Green Bay looked completely unprepared despite having plenty of film on Minnesota’s scheme. Looking ahead, he expects changes at guard and believes the Packers finally respond against the Jets, predicting a 28-10 Green Bay win.
