So I picked him up, drove him an hour to one of the most cult-like churches I've ever covered on this show, and recorded the whole road trip down there. What you'll hear is a wide-ranging conversation about his upbringing in evangelical Christianity, how he became an atheist, the multiple churches in America all calling themselves the House of Prayer, and what it's like to walk into a cult cold turkey. The House of Prayer Bible Seminary looked like a school. Veterans used their GI Bill benefits to enroll, paying the church hundreds of dollars a month for classes that led nowhere and credits worth nothing outside these walls. Rony Denis is still a free man. But not for long.
