Allegedly, Lawrence would use autopilot to step away and have sexual relations with women on the plane. Lawrence was later involved in a plane crash… some say it was because he was using his autopilot to service a lady, others say it had something to do with the weather. He and his lady friend survived… but they were found completely stripped of their clothes. And the media went wild. Lawrence became kind of a joke and maybe because of that, he kind of gets forgotten for inventing autopilot. But this made me realize: the very thing Lawrence invented almost killed him. How ironic.
