    Rastafari and I

What does it mean to inherit a faith that served as a fortress for your father, but feels like a contradiction to you? Throughout his childhood in Oxford, Silas Gray was surrounded by the sights, sounds, and symbols of his father’s Rastafarian identity. He was even named after the Rastafarian spiritual figurehead, Emperor Haile Selassie I. But this legacy weighs heavily. It anchors him to a complex world leader he’s not sure he’s aligned with. And he feels like an imposter carrying a name associated with a faith he doesn’t practise. Desperate to find a version of this legacy he can comfortably own, Silas decides to do what his father spent forty years dreaming of but never actually did: he books a flight to Ethiopia and travels to the Rastafarian spiritual motherland of Shashamane, the land granted to the global black diaspora by the Emperor himself. Silas encounters a living, breathing community where three generations of Rastafarians exist under one roof. This is a deeply personal pilgrimage about a son trying to see what his father sees, heal a generational disconnect, and finally make peace with his name.

  • Biography Flash: Justin Biebers Quiet Comeback From World Cup Stage to Family Life in Greece

Biography Flash: Justin Biebers Quiet Comeback From World Cup Stage to Family Life in Greece

Justin Bieber Biography Flash a weekly Biography. Justin Bieber has spent the past few days in a surprisingly low‑key but biographically telling phase, balancing family life, faith, and a carefully managed comeback. Glamsham reports that Justin and Hailey Bieber are on a peaceful family vacation in Greece with their young son Jack Blues, based in the Ermionida region and making casual, low‑profile strolls through the streets of Spetses rather than chasing cameras or club appearances. This quiet trip, focused on relaxation and togetherness, reinforces a major long‑term theme of his story right now: a pivot from frenetic celebrity chaos toward family stability and emotional recovery. On the business and career front, multiple industry write‑ups in recent days continue to frame his World Cup 2026 halftime performance as a key turning point. Ground.News and Medcom in Indonesia describe how he performed his gratitude‑themed track Everything Hallelujah at the FIFA World Cup final halftime show, using what one outlet called “the biggest stage ever” to deliver a worship‑infused anthem about commitment and simple happiness. That performance, now being replayed across networks and socials, looks like a biographical milestone: a post‑Ramsay Hunt, post‑tour‑cancellation Bieber re‑introducing himself as an adult artist whose identity is tied as much to faith and resilience as to teen‑idol pop. Page Six and other entertainment outlets also continue to circulate coverage of his exclusive World Cup after‑party in New York City, where he reportedly ripped off his shirt, jumped behind the DJ booth, and turned the night into a shirtless sing‑along with guests like Jalen Brunson and Alix Earle. While the party itself is standard A‑list fare, it matters in context: a visible sign that he is physically healthy enough to host and perform informally, easing fan anxiety after years of health headlines. Rumors about imminent touring plans have spiked again, thanks to cryptic website changes and podcast chatter. Tech and entertainment site IT Boltwise reports that label sources are lining up a 2026 world tour around his comeback single Company, with an R&B‑leaning new studio album in the works, though without firm dates or venues yet. Separately, Canadian and French‑language coverage of a podcaster named Mike Gunz suggests a major North American stadium run in late 2026 or 2027. These tour stories remain speculative until dates hit official ticket platforms, but the volume and consistency of the reporting makes a structured live comeback look increasingly likely in his medium‑term biography. On social and reputational fronts, there was a flare‑up around a sexually explicit “leaked” video purporting to show Bieber. The Tab reports that fact‑checkers and an AI system have confirmed the clip is artificial, with facial morphing typical of AI deepfakes, and community notes now clearly state it does not depict the real Justin. That episode is important for his long‑term narrative too: it underlines the growing challenge of AI‑driven misinformation around celebrity identities, something Bieber appears to be weathering without direct public comment so far. Health‑wise, coverage this week continues to reference his past Ramsay Hunt syndrome diagnosis and stresses that, according to outlets like Homedory, there is no verified evidence of any new life‑threatening condition beyond the struggles he has already openly discussed. In other words, despite fan speculation, the authoritative reporting paints a picture of a 31‑year‑old star cautiously rebuilding life and career, not spiraling into fresh crisis. Taken together, the past few days show Justin Bieber in a crucial chapter: quietly investing in his young family in Greece, carrying the momentum of a faith‑centered World Cup performance, testing the waters on a world‑tour comeback, and navigating AI‑era gossip with minimal public drama. That mix of domestic calm, spiritual focus, and strategic career plotting may well define this next biographical era more than any single headline. Biography Flash: Justin Bieber Halftime Buzz Streams Surge and NYC Nightlife Recap

Justin Bieber Biography Flash a weekly Biography. Justin Bieber has had a remarkably high profile few days, driven mostly by his headline making World Cup halftime performance and the ripple effects around it. According to Rolling Stone, Bieber’s stripped back performance of Everything Hallelujah during the 2026 FIFA World Cup final halftime show led to a 240 percent spike in global streams for the 2025 track, a sign that the performance has already had a measurable commercial impact beyond the spectacle itself. Rolling Stone and Vogue both describe the appearance as a major fashion and music moment, with Vogue noting he performed in his own designs, which adds long term biographical weight because it ties his music, branding, and business identity together. According to Yahoo News Canada, reactions to the performance were mixed, with some calling it underwhelming and others praising it as impressive, but the size of the stage and the global reach make it one of the most important recent public appearances in his career. According to Page Six, Bieber also hosted and starred at an exclusive after party in New York with Hailey Bieber, where he reportedly jumped on the DJ booth, took off his shirt, and turned the room into a sing along with guests including Jalen Brunson and Alix Earle. That kind of scene reinforces his continued status as a celebrity magnet and nightlife draw, though it is more pop culture color than biography changing news. Page Six and Meaww also say Bieber and Hailey were seen out for a post World Cup dinner in SoHo, moving under heavy security amid paparazzi attention, which suggests he remains intensely watched in public life. Another notable development, though less clearly established across sources, is a surprise appearance tied to Fanatics Fest reported by Meaww, where Bieber allegedly performed before competing in fan challenges with sports figures. Because that account is narrower and less corroborated than the World Cup coverage, it should be treated as a plausible but less firmly verified appearance rather than a major confirmed career milestone. There are also mentions of broader online buzz, including a Rhythm Failure report that Bieber’s media mentions recently surged, but that source does not clearly explain the cause and should be treated cautiously. Unverified fan made and YouTube style claims about backstage comments and other encounters should not be treated as confirmed reporting. Thanks for listening. Please subscribe to never miss an update on Justin Bieber and search the term Biography Flash for more great Biographies. Thanks for listening. This has been a Quiet Please production. • Becoming Mr James: Undercover Inside North Korea

    Season 2, Episode 9

Becoming Mr James: Undercover Inside North Korea

Jim Latrache grew up poor in Denmark, joined the French Foreign Legion as a young man, and spent years as a high-end cocaine dealer to Copenhagen's wealthy elite before a prison sentence gave him five and a half years to reconsider his life choices. What came next nobody could have predicted. When Danish filmmaker Mads Brügger needed someone to pose as a shady arms dealer willing to negotiate illegal weapons and drug deals with North Korean regime officials, he needed someone who could be utterly convincing in the role. Someone with the background, the nerve, and the complete absence of fear that the job required, he called Jim. Under the alias Mr James, Jim travelled to Uganda, Spain, Norway and deep into North Korea itself, meeting with regime officials, sitting across tables from people willing to discuss Scud missiles and methamphetamine factories, all while wearing hidden cameras and knowing that if his cover was blown, people have been killed for considerably less. The result was The Mole, one of the most extraordinary undercover documentaries ever made. But behind the footage is the story of the man who lived it what it actually felt like to walk into the world's most dangerous dictatorship wearing a wire, and what it takes to come out alive. Jims books can be found here Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
