Accessibly Ever After

Ashton McGrady & Kailey Waskall

Accessibly Ever After is a beauty and lifestyle podcast reimagining makeup, skincare, and cosmetic design through an accessibility-first lens. Created by disabled creators and accessibility advocates, Ashton McGrady & Kailey Waskall, this show exists because too many beauty products still aren’t designed for real bodies, real hands, or real lived experiences. We’re here to change that. Each week, we review makeup and skincare products, break down what makes packaging accessible (or inaccessible), celebrate thoughtful design wins, and share practical ways to adapt beauty routines for disabled, chronically ill, and neurodivergent makeup lovers. From easy-open packaging and grip-friendly tools to formulation, usability, and inclusive design, we go beyond trends to talk about what actually works. Once a month, we release a minisode featuring guests from the beauty industry, accessibility experts, and individuals who creatively adapt products and routines to fit their unique needs. Our community helps guide the conversation. Follow us on Instagram @AccessiblyEverAfter to submit questions, share accessibility wins or frustrations, and help shape future episodes. All products and resources mentioned are linked in the show notes.

Deep Into the Well: Dieux Skin

This week on Accessibly Ever After, Kailey and Ashton are doing a deep dive into Dieux Skin, one of the internet's most loved skincare brands. Dieux was founded in 2020 by Charlotte Palermino, Joyce de Lemos, and Marta Freedman. Palermino spent a decade in media before becoming a licensed esthetician and one of skincare's most outspoken myth busters online. De Lemos is Dieux's cosmetic chemist, with a background formulating for brands like SkinCeuticals and Kiehl's. The brand launched with the Forever Eye Mask and built a reputation on transparency, real formulation science, and a "buy less, buy better" philosophy that runs counter to most of the beauty industry. In this episode, Kailey and Ashton talk through why Deliverance Serum has earned a permanent spot in both their routines, and what makes Instant Angel and Skin Mercy so effective for skin barrier support. They also cover why the Baptism and Ethereal cleansers stand out in a category full of stripping, overcomplicated formulas, choosing between fragrance-free and scented cleansers, the reusable Forever Eye Mask, and the accessibility and real-world trade offs of aluminum tubes, pumps, and tins as packaging. Crown Collective 👑: Katy C.

In this episode of Accessibly Ever After, Kailey and Ashton sit down with Katy Cottam, founder and CEO of Luna Daily, the microbiome-balancing body care brand on a mission to bring intimate skin out of the shame spiral and into the same self-care conversation as the rest of the body. A beauty industry veteran with a resume that includes L'Oreal and Charlotte Tilbury, Katy walks us through her journey building Luna Daily from the ground up, the lessons she picked up along the way, and how her own experience with thrush and a disrupted skin microbiome became the spark for a brand that treats intimate skin with the same care as the rest of the body. Kailey and Ashton also dig into what Luna Daily's products look like through an accessibility lens. They talk through the value of multi-use, all-over formulas for anyone managing limited energy or mobility challenges, and how having fewer products and fewer steps can meaningfully reduce friction in a self-care routine. The conversation also gets honest about what happens when showering or basic self-care feels out of reach entirely, and how shame and stigma can compound that struggle, especially in a category that already keeps women in the dark about their own bodies. Grip It or Skip It: New Beauty Launches, Rated

Beauty was never designed with Disabled people in mind, but that doesn't mean Disabled beauty lovers are settling. This week, Kailey and Ashton break down the newest launches through an accessibility-first lens, from packaging that actually works in real hands to design choices that make a routine easier or impossible. The episode kicks off with two relatable disasters: a salt-shaker explosion at the movies and a coffee spill topped off with a bonk to the head. They're chatting why Rare Beauty's fragrance line (including the new Rare Beginnings EDP) is one of the most accessible in beauty, what makes Makeup by Mario's cream shadow promising for easy eye looks, and where e.l.f. x Bubble, Kylie Cosmetics' Moodstones, and Touchland x Troublemaker get it right or miss the mark, plus the latest Sol de Janeiro mists and a complexion launch sparking undertone debate. Perfect for anyone who wants to know what's actually worth your money, your time, and your spoons. Heads up: Some of the links below are affiliate links. Crown Collective 👑: Brooke P.

In this episode of Accessibly Ever After, Kailey and Ashton sit down with Brooke Parrish, a content creator and disability advocate born with Pfeiffer syndrome, a rare genetic condition that affects the bones of the skull, face, and limbs. Brooke spent years trying to hide her facial difference growing up, and today she is the creator behind @flourishinglydifferent, sharing her life with over 450K followers across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. Together they unpack what it means to show up fully in beauty spaces that have historically excluded visible disabilities, and why representation matters so much. You'll hear Brooke talk about becoming the person she once needed to see online, how she handles everything from intrusive questions to well-intentioned comments that still land wrong, and how she filters out negativity without letting it take over her community. Ashton and Kailey also get real about internalized ableism and the difference between educating out of obligation and choosing when and how to respond. They also dig into what accessible beauty packaging actually looks like, from longer product designs to doe-foot applicators, and why brands need more than vague claims of inclusivity to earn trust from consumers. Deep Into The Well: Ellis Brooklyn

In this week's deep dive, we're getting into Ellis Brooklyn, the clean luxury fragrance brand founder Bee Shapiro built while pregnant and searching for a non-toxic scent she could actually trust. We walk through the full lineup, from gourmands like Queens Caramel and Bee to tropical favorites like Isla Sirena and Miami Nectar, and dig into our thoughts on "clean beauty," is it a real standard or mostly a marketing ploy? Then we get into the accessible packaging, specifically the magnetic cap on every full-size bottle. Reviewers rave about it, and it's easy to see why: no threading to align and no fumbling, just a satisfying snap-close that happens to work beautifully for anyone with limited hand mobility or grip strength. We're calling it what it is: an accidentally accessible win. We talk about what it means when a brand stumbles into inclusive design without ever naming it, and what they're leaving on the table by staying quiet about it.  Listen now and start seeing beauty differently.
