The case gained national attention after her mother Preeti Bhosle filed an FIR at Atpadi Police Station, leading to the arrest of the father. He has been charged under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (murder) and Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act for cruelty to a minor. The postmortem confirmed she died from multiple internal and external injuries.
