    John Fejo: Sharks, Drones and First Nations Wisdom in the Age of AI

    This week Nicola and Di chat with inspiring storyteller John Fuje. John is a First Nations man with a deep connection to storytelling culture and country. He works in environmental services as a senior coordinator, and is an AI and drone technology specialist, using these tools in practical ways to help track sharks, turtles and other marine life along the coastline. The amazing thing about John is the way he blends thousands of years of indigenous wisdom about country and Mother Nature, with the most modern AI tools to find new ways of looking after our planet. John is also a devoted husband, father and grandfather with so much love for his family.  Nicola and Di were introduced to John when he was brought in to spot sharks on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. After inviting him for what they thought would be a 20 minute coffee, which turned into 2 hours, they decided that everyone needed to hear John’s stories.  In this episode we hear the incredible story of how John was able to combine his deep knowledge of country with drone technology that would help him track the movements of sharks and other marine life. We ask him about the recent increase in shark attacks along Sydney’s coastline, and whether there are more sharks in the water - John’s answer may surprise you! We talk about the power of Mother Nature in grounding us and reminding us how connected we all are. The way John talks about his connection with nature is mesmerising and we were captivated by his stories.  We loved having John in the studio with us and it was so wonderful to hear the beautiful and refreshing perspective that he shares.     Dr. Shefali Tsabary Gets Real About The Stories We Hide Behind - And How To Break Them

    This week Nicola and Di chat with the wise and insightful Dr. Shefali. Dr. Shefali is a world-renowned clinical psychologist, international parenting expert, and a New York Times bestselling author of 7 books including The Conscious Parent, The Parenting Map and A Radical Awakening among others. She’s also the host of the Parenting & You podcast, founder of the Conscious Parenting movement and has been a guest several times on Super Soul with Oprah.  In this episode we talk to Dr. Shefali about what it means to be a conscious parent and how you can become aware of your patterns and belief systems by recognising that your child is a mirror to your unresolved issues. It’s not only our children, we talk about the powerful way that all relationships are like mirrors that show us where we still have places to heal and lessons to learn. Dr. Shefali shares some great examples from her own life as a parent, and how we can practically begin to break down our patterns and not project our expectations onto our children. She helps us understand that there’s no such thing as a perfect parent or a perfect human - we are all learning and evolving.  Dr. Shefali shares about her childhood in India and how she always knew she wanted to leave because of the inequalities she witnessed there. At the age of 21 she moved to the United States, where she studied at the California Institute of Integral Studies and Columbia University and began integrating Western psychology and Eastern philosophy in all of her work.  We also talk about her book A Radical Awakening, which helps women see how to break free from societal expectations and live authentic lives. Dr. Shefali talks about the choice we are sometimes faced with between being authentic to ourselves or authentic to the views of others, and that the greatest gift you can ultimately give others in your life is to choose to be authentically yourself.  This is such a beautiful and powerful episode, whether you’re a parent or not, because all of Dr. Shefali’s wisdom can be applied to any relationship in your life.     This week Nicola and Di chat with the delightful Middle Age Goddess, Jane McCann. Jane is a woman who’s turned midlife into a statement. She’s confident, stylish and completely unapologetic. Jane, known as the Middle Age Goddess, has built a loyal Instagram following by rejecting the idea that life slows down after a certain age and proving instead that it only gets better. From fashion, beauty, travel and reinvention, she represents a new kind of woman - one who isn’t interested in playing small, fading quietly or asking for permission. Whether she’s fronting curated experiences abroad or sharing her take on modern femininity, Jane embodies a life that is bold, visible and entirely self-defined. Midlife isn’t the end of the story for Jane, it’s the main event.  In this episode we chat to Jane about what life was like before she became the Middle Age Goddess, and what inspired her to share this chapter of her life online and create such a wonderful community. We talk about why people resonate so much with her message, which is really because of Jane’s honesty and authenticity.  Jane opens up about what it was like to be brought up by a mother who was suffering from bipolar and the way that affected her confidence and self-belief. She’s a practitioner of positive psychology, a mental wellness mentor and someone who knows the corporate life inside and out. Tess has rebuilt her life from a serious spinal injury, survived burnout several times and helps people to reset, recharge and thrive at work and in life. She’s also a mum, a podcaster and the creator of the new supplement Wake Up. In this episode we hear Tess’ incredible story of the skiing accident that changed her life, what it was like to recover from a serious spinal injury and what she learnt about herself along the way.     Over The Money Fence: Calm Amid The Chaos: Building Money Confidence in 2026

    This week Nicola and Di are back with the first 2026 episode of Over The Money Fence with Roger Montgomery. This series aims to help you take control of your finances with clarity and confidence. Roger is the Founder and Chairman of Montgomery Investment Management, has over 30 years’ investing experience and is a highly respected financial commentator featuring on various ABC programs, as well as his popular column in The Australian newspaper. He is also the author of best-selling investment guidebook Value.able. In this episode, we take a look at the changes that are currently happening in the world, and how that could impact our finances. Roger explains how the tailwinds that have benefited the stock markets in the past, and have benefited the Baby Boomers and Gen X are shifting, and why that means we need to consider other investments. Roger talks about the importance of diversification and how you need to look at investing in things that don’t move the same way as your existing investments. He discusses alternative investment options that can provide you with regular income, low capital volatility and attractive returns like private credit and the differences in those types of funds. He also explores high-frequency trading and arbitrage strategies, which historically were largely accessible only to institutional investors.
