    After studying verbs, it’s time to add more salsa to your Spanish 🥫 Verbs are essential for creating your first sentences, but using them alone feels incomplete. To sound more natural, you need to express how often you do things. In this episode, you’ll learn the most common adverbs of frequency in Spanish. These words help you say how frequently an action happens. ⏰ Here are the frequency words covered in the lesson: Siempre = 100% Casi siempre = 90%–80% Usualmente = around 50% or more A veces = below 50% Casi nunca = 10% or less Nunca = 0% 🎧 Audio activity transcript: ¿Qué tal, amiga o amigo? Te quiero hablar de mi rutina. En la mañana, casi siempre me levanto a las 8 de la mañana. Luego, usualmente como pan con mantequilla y tomo café. Después, siempre me baño y escucho podcasts.     📚 In this lesson, you will learn how reflexive verbs work in Spanish and why they are different from regular and irregular verbs. Reflexive verbs show that the person doing the action is also receiving it, similar to the idea of “myself,” “yourself,” or “himself.” You can recognize them because their infinitive form ends in “se,” as in ducharse 🚿, levantarse 🛏️ or peinarse 🪮. The episode explains that the reflexive particle “se” changes depending on the subject. When conjugated, “se” becomes me, te, se, nos, se. For example: Ducharse 🧼 yo me ducho tú te duchas él, ella, usted se ducha nosotros nos duchamos ustedes, ellos, ellas se duchan The main verb is then conjugated normally, following either regular or irregular patterns. For instance, ducharse uses the regular verb duchar, while vestirse uses the irregular verb vestir, which has a stem change. You will also learn that many daily routine actions are reflexive in Spanish because speakers think of these actions as being performed on themselves. This does not always match English, so literal translation does not work. Expressions like “me levanto” or “me visto” may sound unusual in English, but they are natural in Spanish. Have fun!     The “black sheep” of the family of verbs: irregular. Why do they act like the wacky cousin in your family. Let’s find out in this episode ⬇️ What makes a verb irregular? 🤔 Irregular verbs do not follow the standard conjugation patterns of regular -ar, -er, and -ir verbs. Their stems or endings change in unpredictable ways, so they must be learned individually or by pattern groups. Most -ar verbs are regular (around 80%). Most irregular verbs appear in the -er and -ir categories. Types of irregular verbs in the present tense ⬇️ 👉 Stem changing verbs These verbs change the vowel in the stem when conjugated (except in nosotros). Examples: • o → ue (dormir → duermo, duermes, duerme…) • e → ie (pensar → pienso, piensas, piensa…) • e → i (pedir → pido, pides, pide…) Key idea: The stem changes in all forms except nosotros. 👉 Verbs irregular only in the “yo” form These verbs have a unique first person singular form, but the rest of the conjugation is regular. Examples: • saber → sé • dar → doy • poner → pongo • salir → salgo Key idea: Only the yo form is irregular; all other forms follow regular patterns. 👉 Mixed irregular verbs (yo irregular + stem change) These verbs combine both irregularities: • irregular in the yo form • stem change in the other forms Example: • tener → tengo, tienes, tiene, tienen • venir → vengo, vienes, viene, vienen Key idea: Two irregularities in one verb. 👉 Completely irregular verbs These verbs do not follow any predictable pattern. Each form must be memorized. Examples: • ser → soy, eres, es, somos, son • ir → voy, vas, va, vamos, van • estar → estoy, estás, está, estamos, están Key idea: No pattern. Learn each form individually. 📚 How to study irregular verbs ✅ Create short, meaningful sentences using each verb. ✅ Practice aloud to internalize the sound and rhythm. ✅ Review them frequently, as irregular verbs appear constantly in everyday Spanish. ✅ Read simple texts in the present tense to see irregular verbs in context.
