    God's Steady Faithfulness :: Beth Tappan's Story [Episode 377]

    In today's episode, we're reminded that the hardest and most unexpected parts of life are often where we experience God's presence most deeply.   Beth Tappan, who serves on our Charleston, South Carolina community team, shares her story of growing up in an adoptive family and the profound influence of both her adoptive and biological mothers. Through loss and discovery, Beth's journey unfolds in remarkable ways—especially after the passing of her parents, when she connects with her biological mother and learns of a history of breast cancer.   Because of that connection, Beth begins early screenings and ultimately discovers cancer at an early stage, an outcome that may not have been possible otherwise. Through it all, she sees God's hand guiding her story in ways she never could have planned, encouraging us to know that God's faithfulness is not dependent on ours. He always remains steady, present, and good.   VERSE OF THE WEEK: "Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, before you were born, I set you apart."     When Addiction Hits Close to Home :: Lindsey Cross' Story :: [Episode 376]

    Addiction touches countless families. Nearly half of U.S. adults say they've had a close friend or family member struggle with drug or alcohol dependency. Yet even in the darkest places, there is real hope, healing, and redemption through Jesus.   In today's episode, Lindsey Cross, who shared at one of our newest Storytellers Live gatherings in Mobile, Alabama, invites us into her story. On the outside, her family seemed to have it all together, but beneath the surface, her husband was quietly battling addiction.   With honesty and courage, Lindsey shares the shock, heartbreak, and unraveling that followed this discovery. But more importantly, she points us to the steady, redeeming work of God, who meets us in our pain and, through His grace, mercy, and unfailing love, brings beauty from ashes.   VERSE OF THE WEEK: God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Joanne Bell from our Storytellers Live community in Jackson, Mississippi, shares how God taught her the discipline of listening for His voice through seasons of deep hardship, from walking through a divorce to experiencing homelessness with her four children.     Saved From Alcohol Addiction- A Story of Surrender :: Penny Thorne's Story [Episode 373]

    Penny Thorne, who shared at our community group in Raleigh, North Carolina, grew up with a strong foundation of faith but quietly believed the lie that she had to earn God's love by being good enough. That pressure followed her into adulthood, where she soon discovered alcohol helped to ease her anxiety of trying to be perfect. Over time, however, the alcohol began to take control. But God, in His kindness, had a plan for redemption.   Through the love of her daughter, time in Scripture, and stepping into community, Penny encountered the pursuing love of a Father who never let her go.     Dismantling My Pride :: Emma Flaugher's Story [Episode 371]

    Pride is often subtle, yet it quietly shapes what we love, pursue, and depend on. In today's episode, Emma Flaugher—who shared her story at our Charleston Live Gathering—speaks honestly about a lifelong struggle with pride and her deep desire for approval and applause.
