‘I can’t see this working’: Andrew Lownie on Harry and Meghan’s ‘damned’ return

In a special Friday episode of The Daily T, Camilla and Royal Editor Hannah Furness discuss the latest in the fallout from The Telegraph’s revelation of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s planned move back to the UK. The pair discuss news of Prince Harry’s intention not to speak publicly about private family matters in a bid to regain the King’s trust, and reports that Meghan has been offered an acting role in the UK. Hannah also speaks to the royal author and historian Andrew Lownie about the Sussexes’ shock decision to return to Britain. He believes the “brass neck” move marks a “new beginning”, and warns that it could cause a strain on the marriage. We want to hear from you! What’s really behind Harry and Meghan’s shock move back to the UK?

In Thursday’s episode of The Daily T, Tim Stanley and Poppy Coburn discuss the global reaction to The Telegraph’s exclusive story on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s planned move to the UK with Hannah Furness, the Royal Editor. Amid speculation behind the couple’s motive, they discuss what their imminent arrival will mean for the logistics of their private security, their status within the Royal family and the chances of reconciliation with the Prince and Princess of Wales. Tim and Poppy also speak to Dai Davies, the former head of the Royal Protection Command, who says it “beggars belief” that the Duke and Duchess are returning to the UK, in light of their recent battle with the Home Office for taxpayer-funded security while in the country. ‘Farage didn’t know’: Reform rebel blames Zia Yusuf for suspension

In Tuesday’s episode of The Daily T, Camilla Tominey and Tim Stanley speak to Tim Montgomerie, a high-profile Reform UK supporter, who says he will appeal against the party’s decision to suspend him for criticising Nigel Farage and Zia Yusuf. The Conservative Home website founder tells Camilla and Tim that if “a political organisation can’t take criticism, it can’t advance”, as he warns of the internal rivalries and structural flaws that he believes could prevent Reform from achieving a majority in a general election. Mr Montgomerie also claims that Mr Farage, the party leader, was not aware of his suspension, and that he believes his criticism of Mr Yusuf is what led to the party’s decision to suspend him.   We want to hear from you!
