Viv Beck: Keeping people employed is good for the country

No green light from Auckland, or the rest of the country – for the time being. Health officials will provide advice to Cabinet this week on the current traffic light settings – following confirmation that a border worker has the Omicron strain. However, Cabinet isn't expected to meet this week to review those settings, as originally planned. David Kirk: Players fear profitability issues over Silver Lake deal

Over in the US, some proposed new legislation is putting TikTok back in the spotlight. The new bill would force the app's partner company ByteDance to sell TikTok within six months or be banned from US app stores amid spyware concerns.
