In this episode of Dentistry Inspired, Dr. Sean Robertson is joined by Paul Chiarot, whose career spans engineering, insurance, and dental practice management. Drawing on decades of experience and firsthand insight from helping run a successful dental practice, Paul brings clarity to one of the most pressing challenges in dentistry today: building sustainable, people-centred practices in a changing landscape. The conversation explores how benefits, risk management, and thoughtful business structures play a critical role in recruitment, retention, and long-term practice health, especially for small and solo practices navigating increasing consolidation in the profession. This episode isn’t just about insurance or overhead. It’s about sustainability, culture, and making informed decisions that support both teams and practice owners. Whether you’re early in ownership or rethinking how your practice is structured, this discussion offers practical perspective and strategic insight for the future of dentistry. – Dr. Sean Robertson is the Lead Strategist and founder of Practice Advocate (www.practiceadvocate.ca).
