  1. The SHE Word S6/13- After Hours with Special Guest Max Vassallo

The SHE Word S6/13- After Hours with Special Guest Max Vassallo

Yes, you read it right. In this Afterhours Special of The SHE Word, Trudy, Tez and Sue sit down with Max Vassalo of Bajd U Beiken for possibly the most unexpected episode of The SHE Word. Max and the hosts of The SHE Word have been known to disagree on topics and content of each other’s shows, and to be fair when they do publicly comment they’ve often hit the headlines. However, as is so often the case, there is much more to the individuals involved than is portrayed in the media. Host Trudy invites Max as a special guest to this adult version of the show to add his thoughts on a wide range of topics. This episode demonstrates that it is not just possible to discuss, debate and still disagree, but to also like and respect someone you don’t always see eye to eye with. But this show isn’t a demonstration of differences. In this episode the four at the table find that there is a great deal of common ground. Trudy, Max, Sue and Tez dive into finding out what the opposite sex thinks about key topics such as sex, red flags, women’s and men’s roles in the home, parenting, love languages, same sex and opposite sex friendships, and much more. This show is not only brilliantly funny and unexpectedly honest; this special episode also shows an emotional side of Max that few will be familiar with. Laugh along with the guests as they drop innuendos and crack jokes, but also delve into surprising sensitive topics with often very unexpected outcomes. As the guest list and the name suggests, the conversation is littered with ADULT references and language - so please be warned! TSW Young Women's Edition S4/06 - Young Women in Media

What’s it really like to be a young woman working in media today? It’s a world that can be unpredictable, funny, and sometimes downright chaotic, full of bloopers, slip-ups, and unexpected encounters that make for the best stories. But it also comes with very real challenges: balancing public and private life, handling criticism, and finding your own voice in an industry that isn’t always built to listen. In this episode of The SHE Word’s Young Women’s Edition, host Sasha, a former journalist who continues to work in media, is joined by three incredible guests: Naomi Scicluna, Head of Creative at FreeHour Malta and content creator; Angelica Farrugia, journalist and newscaster at TVM News; and Martha Attard, radio host and broadcasting producer at Vibe FM. Together, the four women swap hilarious on-air mishaps and behind-the-scenes stories, while also reflecting on what it means to represent young women in spaces that remain largely male-dominated. The conversation flows between laughter and honesty, from the pressure to always “look the part,” to the nerves of going live for the first time, to the joy of creating work that genuinely connects with people. It’s about boundaries, burnout, ambition, and above all, the importance of finding joy in the middle of it all. Lively, hilarious, and empowering, this episode captures what it really takes for young women in media to not just survive, but thrive. 4. The SHE Word S6/12 - Women Overcoming Trauma

    4 SEPT

The SHE Word S6/12 - Women Overcoming Trauma

This outstandingly powerful episode of The SHE Word touches on a topic that affects us all but is very rarely openly spoken about; Trauma. Trauma is impossible to avoid, and what one person might find deeply traumatic, another might breeze through. Likewise, an experience that might be seemingly small and insignificant to some might leave deep wounds for another. Simply put, none of us walk the same path and navigate the same trauma. Even children growing up in the same home do not experience the same childhood - and this applies throughout life. In this show Trudy is joined by TSW regular Sue Caruana, political figure and counselor Rachel Williams, and author and business woman Pamela Michaux for a raw, honest and moving time of sharing and discussion. Each of the women openly and powerfully share their trauma experiences and describe how this shaped their lives and affected their decisions. The women bond over common threads and repeated behaviour; the gas lighting reactions; the 'walking into the room responses'. Watch and be seen as the women (sometimes tearfully) speak about the sadness, loneliness, abuse and isolation that has affected them. Listen and identify as Trudy guides the guests navigate what trauma is and the validity of their own experiences; from surviving childhood beatings, to abandonment and complete lack of love, from abusive relationships and marriages to lack of self worth and long lasting anger. In this show Trudy also delves into the positive lasting legacies that make Sue, Rachel and Pamela the powerful women they are today. The episode looks at the fire that drives them, the freedom that comes with forgiveness and the power that overcoming trauma can bring. TSW Young Women's Edition S4/05 - Young Women - Empowering Your Voice

What does it mean to speak up, be heard, and sustain your voice in a world that often tries to silence young women? In this episode of The She Word, Sasha sits down with three incredible young activists who have turned their voices into powerful tools for change. Journalist and Environment Editor at the European Correspondent, Belle de Jong, has been at the forefront of Malta’s My Voice, My Choice abortion rights campaign while championing social and environmental justice on issues from reproductive rights to the climate crisis. Rachelle Bezzina is a writer, multidisciplinary artist, and co-founder of Young Progressive Beings, a youth-led movement for reproductive justice, who uses art and language as acts of resistance, care, and collective empowerment. Joining them is Francesca Zammit, a multidisciplinary artist working across dance, film, poetry, performance, and community interventions, whose practice bridges art and activism to inspire social change and who also co-founded Young Progressive Beings. Together, they explore what drives young women to speak up, how activism intersects with journalism and art, and the unique challenges of fighting for reproductive rights in Malta. They share stories of courage, moments of burnout, and the importance of setting boundaries while continuing to use their voices as a catalyst for change. From debating a woman’s right to her own body, to the role of protest as empowerment, to navigating activism in the digital age, this conversation is both deeply personal and profoundly political. The SHE Word S6/11- Women Making in Sports

Women in Malta are really making it in the sports scene. The Malta Women’s football team have secured promotion in the UEFA Nations League to League B, a massive milestone on their road to the 2027 World Cup qualifiers and an astounding 16 Maltese women are playing with top European Clubs. Malta is breaking through the international tennis circuit and women from the Malta athletic squad brought home a record number of medals from this year’s Small Nations Games. But let’s be honest, women have it hard in sports and even harder in sports in Malta - where athletes compete along side professionals who benefit from sponsorship, dedicated coaching and full time training. However, this hasn’t stopped female athletes in Malta from breaking records, beating boundaries and taking pride of place on the podium - with women in Malta killing it in sports. Host Trudy sits down with three women who have made waves on the international stage and earned world championship titles to find out what motivates them, what sacrifices they have had to make, what drives them when the going gets tough, and so many other lessons that can also be applied to life in whole. Sasha Gatt is two-time Olympian who has been breaking national records since she was 13 years old. Full of passion for swimming, Sasha also has some great thoughts to share the FOMO of young athletes and how she has dealt with disappointment. Runner and mother of two Doctor Jemima Farley is possibly the most humble World Champion you are ever likely to meet, Jemima shares the reality of juggling a family, a full time career as a GP and an outstanding runner career. Danica Bonello Spiteri is also a doctor and mum, but hasn’t let that hold her back from representing Malta at the Commonwealth Games and other World Championships events as a triathlete and duoathlete. Beyond inspiring sports women, the guests share the reality of what it takes to be the best of the best, how parenthood has impacted them, they share the journey their dreams have taken them on and the lessons they have learned. The women also share the stories that have empowered them along the way. Tune in to tap into inspiration unplugged and hear how these women’s experiences can empower us all in every walk of life.
