Vote outside the Uniparty | UK Column Interviews

Professor Diane Rasmussen spoke with Dr Donald Boyd, a retired doctor and leader of the Scottish Christian Party, about issues affecting Scotland and the wider UK. Dr Boyd is a relatively new UK Column viewer. He contacted Diane after watching her interview with concerned Texas mother Bonnie Wallace, Fighting the Spiritual Battle for Children's Innocence, regarding age-inappropriate content in books for children and teenagers. Following this contact, Diane and Dr Boyd recorded this informative and thoughtful discussion about a range of topics, including medical issues such as the Covid injections, UK political parties, spirituality, and religion. The UK-wide Christian Party "supports patriotism but not nationalism", and argues that other parties have lost sight of the role of Christian faith and values in British society. Working within the UK-wide party, the Scottish Christian Party has candidates standing for election to Scottish Parliament on 7 May 2026, with Dr Boyd running as the Party's candidate for the Highlands and Islands. Dr Boyd maintains an informative blog called Donald's Thoughts: Comments by the leader of the Scottish Christian Party on the secular, scientific, political and ecclesiastical scene and the application of Christianity to public life. His posts 'Should a Public Service Accommodate Belief' and 'Non-Crime Hate Incidents,' are particularly relevant to this interview. ► Join UK Column Live every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 1pm UK time or watch previous live recordings here: https://bit.ly/UKColumn_Live ► [UK Column Website] Explore all our written and video content on the official UK Column website: https://www.ukcolumn.org/ ► [Support UK Column] Please donate to support our independent journalism & investigative journalism: https://support.ukcolumn.org/ ► [UK Column YouTube] Please subscribe to the UK Column News YouTube channel for more alternative news and independent news: https://bit.ly/ukcolumnofficial Follow #UKColumn on: ► X: https://x.com/ukcolumn ► Telegram: https://t.me/ukcolumn ► Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/UKColumnExtracts ► Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/uk_column_news

The Iran War Was Supposed to Cripple China. It Backfired Spectacularly. | Silk and Steel

In this episode of Silk and Steel, Ahmad sits down with Carl Zha (geopolitical analyst and host of the Silk and Steel Podcast) to dissect the Iran war, US strategy to choke off China's energy, and why the empire looks increasingly like a paper tiger. The big picture: • The US has had a 30-year plan to control global oil flows and corner China (going back to the 2003 Iraq war) • But having a plan and executing it competently are two very different things • China has 1.4 billion barrels in strategic oil reserves – larger than the US, Europe, and Japan combined • While the US Navy struggles to feed its sailors, China is lifting export bans on gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel We break down: • The "Clean Break" plan (1997) – the Israeli blueprint to remake the Middle East for the "Greater Israel" project • Why seven US presidents resisted war with Iran – and why Trump didn't • The Epstein files theory – why Israel may have compromising material on Trump • How China prepared for this crisis while the US drained its strategic reserves • The difference between heavy crude (Venezuela) and light sweet crude (Persian Gulf) – and why it matters • Why the US Navy's food crisis is a symptom of a much larger logistics breakdown • The fertilizer crisis – 20% of world's natural gas offline, planting season is NOW Plus: The Top Gun: Persian Edition (Iranian pilots flying 60-year-old F-5 jets over US bases), why the "pivot to Asia" became a pivot to West Asia, and why China's energy independence is accelerating. ► Join UK Column Live every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 1pm UK time or watch previous live recordings here: https://bit.ly/UKColumn_Live ► [UK Column Website] Explore all our written and video content on the official UK Column website: https://www.ukcolumn.org/ ► [Support UK Column] Please donate to support our independent journalism & investigative journalism: https://support.ukcolumn.org/ ► [UK Column YouTube] Please subscribe to the UK Column News YouTube channel for more alternative news and independent news: https://bit.ly/ukcolumnofficial Follow #UKColumn on: ► X: https://x.com/ukcolumn ► Telegram: https://t.me/ukcolumn ► Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/UKColumnExtracts ► Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/uk_column_news

Mike Robinson | A Thousand Words (Part 1 of 3)

Mike Robinson | A Thousand Words (Part 1 of 3) Part 2 and 3 are available at https://www.ukcolumn.org/series/a-thousand-words ► Subscribe to the UK Column YouTube channel ► https://bit.ly/ukcolumnofficial Mike straps himself into 'the dentist's chair' and we get to hear some of the personal stories behind the public persona. Mike and Jake also reflect on the 'movement' and how certain things need to be in place before we can have useful conversations rather than hostile and unproductive ones. They note that constant infighting, ego, and the unwillingness to admit mistakes often mirror the very behaviours we are critiquing. Instead of creating understanding, this dynamic increases stress and deepens divisions. They also discuss the importance of individual responsibility when engaging with information. Rather than passively consuming content, Mike encourages us to question, verify, and think critically about what we encounter. He points out that meaningful change doesn’t come from waiting for large-scale solutions or influential figures, but from individuals taking small, consistent actions. Personal development—such as being open to new evidence and willing to rethink one’s views—is presented as a key part of that process. Divisive topics are used to illustrate how rigid beliefs on both sides can shut down meaningful dialogue. When one side refuses to consider alternative explanations and the other dismisses the topic entirely, constructive discussion becomes impossible. Ultimately, they argue that progress depends on maintaining a balanced, evidence-based approach, along with a willingness to engage respectfully and accept uncertainty where necessary. China's Economy is 2-3x Bigger Than the US | Silk and Steel

China's Economy is 2-3x Bigger Than the US | Silk and Steel ► Subscribe to the UK Column YouTube channel ► https://bit.ly/ukcolumnofficial In this episode of The Silk and Steel Podcast, host Carl Zha is joined by Han Fei-Zi (aka Blue Bear Monkey, formerly Doggy) – a prolific writer for Asia Times – for a deep dive into the real size of China's economy, the structural flaws in Western economic thinking, and why the US is living in a delusion that could lead to catastrophic decisions. The explosive claims: • China's economy is 2-3 times larger than the US, not 25% larger on PPP or smaller in nominal terms • China has been lowballing its GDP for decades – for WTO negotiations, to maintain "developing nation" status, and out of institutional inertia • The ICP (International Comparison Program) data that sets purchasing power parity is fundamentally flawed – comparing China to Mexico is absurd • The "smile curve" that told the West to offshore manufacturing was measuring the wrong thing – manufacturing is actually the hardest, most valuable part We break down: • Why electricity consumption, car sales, and steel production tell a truer story than GDP figures • How the US runs on "Dutch disease" – selling assets (treasuries, stocks, real estate) instead of producing goods • Why Scott Bessent and Trump are delusional about trade war leverage • The petrodollar vs. petroyuan shift – and why Iran's demands for yuan payments are a game-changer • How BRI just had a record year (double the previous record) – the "BRI is dead" narrative was wrong • Why Western aid is just "window dressing" – while China builds roads, rails, and power grids Plus: Why Chinese parents send their kids to US universities (it's not what you think), the truth about Chinese students at Tsinghua, and why Elon Musk said design is a "rounding error" compared to manufacturing. Han Fei-Zi writes for Asia Times and can be found on X as Blue Bear Monkey (formerly Doggy). Follow for provocative, colorful takes on China's economy. ► Join UK Column Live every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 1pm UK time or watch previous live recordings here: https://bit.ly/UKColumn_Live ► [UK Column Website] Explore all our written and video content on the official UK Column website: https://www.ukcolumn.org/ ► [Support UK Column] Please donate to support our independent journalism & investigative journalism: https://support.ukcolumn.org/ ► [UK Column YouTube] Please subscribe to the UK Column News YouTube channel for more alternative news and independent news: https://bit.ly/ukcolumnofficial Follow #UKColumn on: ► X: https://x.com/ukcolumn ► Telegram: https://t.me/ukcolumn ► Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/UKColumnExtracts ► Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/uk_column_news
