My $500 Jon Boat | 1436 with a DIY Predator 212 Mud Motor

I bought my first boat, a 1436 jon boat and trailer off Facebook Marketplace for $500. It was listed at $1,000, dropped to $850, and I asked if he'd take $500, and he did. This episode covers why I wanted a boat at all, the motor setup I went with, the issues the boat has, the three trips on the water so far, and what it actually cost me up until this point. This is my first boat and my first mud motor. Everything I did, I learned from Google and YouTube, so take it as what worked for me, not the right way to do it. If you want water access for hunting or fishing and you don't mind doing the work yourself, then maybe you’ll want to try and find a cheap fixer upper boat too. Why I'm Switching to Mechanical Broadheads | SEVR Robusto 1.5 Hybrid

Last season I made a perfect shot on a deer. Double lung pass-through, dead within minutes. He still ran about 200 yards, and my buddy and I couldn't find a drop of blood until we were almost on top of him. I'm colorblind, so tracking has always been the hard part for me, and that deer is why I'm switching to mechanical broadheads after three seasons on the Day Six Evo. The Evo never failed me. This episode is about why I'm switching anyway, what I'm switching to, and what I found when I went looking for data showing a bigger cutting surface gives you a better blood trail. It wasn't what I expected. What You'll Learn: Why a mangled Rage from my first buck sent me to fixed blades for six seasonsWhy I'm leaving a broadhead that never failed meWhat a 24-year Maryland study says about fixed blade vs mechanical recovery ratesWhy I picked the SEVR Robusto 1.5 Hybrid in 150 grain, and not the Titanium 1.5 or the Day Six VerseWhat I'm still nervous about with mechanicals Referenced Gear (no affiliation, paid out of pocket): SEVR Robusto 1.5 Hybrid 150gr: https://www.sevrbroadheads.com/product/robusto-1-5-hybrid-broadhead/Day Six Evo: https://www.daysixgear.com/products/evoDay Six Verse (the mechanical with no 150gr option): https://www.daysixgear.com/pages/verseGet in touch. My 2026 Archery Whitetail Setup: Bow, Saddle, and Pack

Last year I upgraded my bow for the first time in seven years. The year before I made the change to a saddle setup. I haven't done a proper update on either setup since those videos and with the 2026 archery whitetail season upon us it felt like the right time.On this episode I am going to cover everything I hunt with and what's changed in my setup over the years. Go Even When You Don't Feel Like It

Lately I have been learning that doing the smallest version of something and showing up is still a success. I have been struggling with the voices in my head wanting me to sleep in, or telling me that if I’m not doing something perfectly that it isn’t worth doing it at all. But that simply isn’t the case. I almost didn't run this morning. I had every excuse lined up — the heat, my son was up half the night, "is one mile even worth it?" But I went anyway. And that set the tone for everything I wanted to talk about in this episode and I think a real life lesson that I am learning to accept as a new father. What You'll Hear: Why I almost skipped a one-mile run, and what going anyway did for the rest of my dayDrawing my first quota turkey tag and missing both weekends with zero regretsA last-weekend, last-ditch hunt with my buddy with hopes of filling my first turkey tagHow doing the small version of the thing compounds over timeIf you're someone who keeps almost doing the thing and talking yourself out of it, this one's for you. How I Got My First Duck (It Took Two Seasons)

I wanted to get into duck hunting almost from the start. The problem was I didn't know a single person who duck hunted and middle Tennessee isn’t exactly known for it’s duck hunting. So late 2024 I did something that felt a little embarrassing… I posted on a local hunting Facebook group and asked strangers to take me. One guy responded. This episode covers the whole story cover my two seasons of trying to duck hunt, three hunts, and a lot of time where nothing went the way I planned. I got ghosted. I went solo in December when nobody would commit. And eventually, over a year later, I finally got my first duck on a drawn public land blind with a group of guys I'd never met before. If you’ve been in my shoes before, wanting to know how to duck hunt and just not sure where to start, I hope this episode helps you take the next step.

5 Goal Setting Mistakes I Keep Making (I Know Better...)

The first half of 2026 is nearly over. If your year is going anything like mine, you’re not exactly crushing those resolutions you set in January. I keep falling into the same goal traps, even though I know better. But it isn’t too late. In this episode I go over the five goal setting traps that I’ve seen come up most often and how to get around them. What's in this episode: Why three to five goals for a year is the sweet spotHow to find the line between too vague and too rigid in your goalsKnowing the “why” behind your goals and why that mattersPlanning for the obstacles and issues you’ll likely run intoSetting milestones that actually tell you if you're on trackWhy focusing on inputs is better than outputsIf your year doesn't look like you thought it would in January, maybe this will help.

Two months ago my life changed forever. I am a dad now, and it’s been a crazy journey getting here and figuring out what fatherhood is like. This episode I get personal and go into our journey to becoming parents and what life has been like the last few months. Towards the end I talk about what this means for Endurhunt and the 2026 hunting seasons. Get in touch.
