    Geographic Psychic Trauma

    Geographic Psychic Trauma

In this installment of Expanded Perspectives, the guys start the show by talking about the beautiful weather in north central Texas and how Kyle has been spending all of this time moving existing Elite shows from the prior platform to the new Patreon page. Up first, a person who worked for the U.S. Army Criminal Investigations (CID) before and during the conflicts in the war in Iraq had a bizarre encounter with something the locals called "The Goul." Then, a listener writes into the show about a strange experience she had with her mother with a cell phone that messaged and called her from her mother's dream. Next, A Wisconsin National Guardsman stationed at Ft.McCoy has a frightening encounter with an unknown tall, skinny being during a night operation. What was it?

After the intermission, Kyle broaches the topic of a peculiar occurrence known as Geographic Psychic Trauma (GPT). This phenomenon refers to the residual energy imprint left on an object or location following a distressing or traumatic incident. It is theorized to manifest when the departure of the soul or spirit from the body happens so abruptly that any associated consciousness becomes disoriented, unable to comprehend the events or its surroundings. What distinguishes GPT hauntings from residual ones is their ability to engage with the living and exhibit a degree of awareness, whereas residual energy hauntings typically lack such responsiveness. It's important to clarify that not all traumatic events lead to GPT or residual hauntings, and hauntings, in general, can stem from various causes. Another term used to describe a spirit experiencing Geographic Psychic Trauma is "Crisis Apparition." Paranormal researchers classify Crisis Apparitions as the spirits of individuals who passed away during moments of crisis, such as murders or other traumatic events.

Expanded Perspectives Elite - Move to Patreon

Expanded Perspectives Elite - Move to Patreon

    Greetings everyone,

We would like to take a moment to provide some insights into the current status of Expanded Perspectives Elite. Firstly, a heartfelt thank you to our Elite members for their unwavering support. While we offer Expanded Perspectives for free listening, the production itself comes with significant costs, and your support has been invaluable. We initiated Expanded Perspectives nearly 11 years ago, and Expanded Perspective Elite came into existence almost 9 years ago. The podcasting landscape has undergone substantial changes since then, evolving from a novel concept to a platform with millions of shows worldwide. Nine years ago, finding services to conceal exclusive RSS feeds for paying members was a challenge. Though options like WishList Member, MemberMouse, and Patreon existed, they were not as refined as they are today.

Initially, we chose WishList Member based on positive feedback from fellow podcasters. While it served its purpose reasonably well initially, over time, the platform deteriorated. Issues such as missing episodes, loading problems, and cumbersome sign-up processes became apparent. Recognizing these challenges, and with the platform nearly broken in the last 24 months, we decided to transition to Patreon. Our Patreon page is now live at patreon.com/expandedperspectiveselite, or you can find us on the Patreon app. For existing Expanded Perspectives Elite members, you should have access to the entire back catalog, but we recommend downloading it soon as it will be taken down at some point. If you're not an Elite member but wish to be, visit our Patreon page and sign up for $5 a month to access the complete back catalog (note that this offer will change in the next month).

Looking ahead, Expanded Perspectives Elite will have two tiers. Tier #1, priced at $5 a month, provides access to all Elite shows from 2022 to the present, including new episodes released every Friday. Tier #2, at $10 a month, offers all new episodes, the entire back catalog, and ad-free versions of the Regular Show every Wednesday. If you enjoy Expanded Perspectives and want to support the show, joining Elite is a fantastic way to do so. Your monthly donation goes towards covering expenses like data storage, editing software, music, sound effects, recording equipment, and research materials. Some episodes are still being added to our Patreon, and we appreciate your patience during this transition. We hope to see you all on Patreon soon. Thank you for your time, and God Bless.

    Owl You Need Is Love

    Owl You Need Is Love

Welcome to another episode of Expanded Perspectives! In today's show, Kyle kicks things off by sharing his frustration with last-minute science projects, a familiar tale for any parent. Meanwhile, the boys steer clear of the wildfires blazing across the Texas panhandle. As the narrative unfolds, a Montana resident's peaceful mountain abode is disrupted by horrifying screams, leading to a bizarre encounter with a pale humanoid boasting enormous black eyes. Meanwhile, in Bucks County, PA, a resident's routine nighttime check on his dog takes an unexpected turn when he confronts a towering 9-foot-tall upright canine, reportedly documented in a police report.

In a twist from central Florida, a woman recounts her unsettling encounter with a dark 7-foot tall 'Owlman' while patrolling her property near a conservation area. The suspense lingers as she remains vigilant, anticipating a possible reappearance.

After the break, Cam delves into mysterious encounters with a creature dubbed the Owlman, also known as the Cornish Owlman or the Owlman of Mawnan. Initially considered a cryptid, it's later revealed as a therianthrope, specifically a wereavian. The Owlman's human origins remain elusive, shrouded in mystery, echoing the tale of Vivienne de Tabris from Toussaint, cursed by an unknown creature, resulting in her unborn daughter taking the form of a humanoid oriole on full moon nights. Could the Owlman's story share a similar mysterious origin? That remains undisclosed. If this had been the only sighting of this strange creature it could have been put it down to overactive imaginations. But it was only the first of several appearances of the half man and half bird which became known as the Owlman. Avian humanoid hybrids are common in folklore all across the world. They can be found in Egyptian, Hindu, Greek and Japanese cultures amongst many others.

Tune in for all this and more on this captivating installment of Expanded Perspectives!

    Disc In The Desert

    Disc In The Desert

On this episode of Expanded Perspectives, the guys start the show off by talking about their recent trip to Colorado and how much more it was not taking the kids along. Then, a person writes the show about a crazy coincidence that happened a few years ago. Next, a wild encounter with a creepy white Not-Deer in Kentucky. If that wasn't strange enough, a person writes in with not one but two trash bag Duende sightings separated by years—finally, an bizarre sighting of a hideous Gnome.

After the break, Kyle brings up some strange close encounters of the deadly kind! On January 7, 1948, 25-year-old Captain Thomas F. Mantell, a Kentucky Air National Guard pilot, died in the crash of his P-51 Mustang fighter after being sent in pursuit of an unidentified flying object (UFO). The event was among the most publicized early UFO incidents. Beneath the vast skies of Mexico and the southwestern U.S., tales of mysterious aerial encounters have etched themselves into local folklore and global myth. One event stands out, wrapped in layers of intrigue and whispers of cover-ups: the enigmatic Coyame UFO crash near the U.S.-Mexico border in 1974

    Twigonometry

    Twigonometry

On this episode of Expanded Perspectives, the guys start the show off by talking about how much they love the Indiana Jones series, but they think that it would have been better if they hadn't waited so long to film the later versions.  Then, a Danville, California boy and his friends were digging in a local bog when the witness struck a huge toad. After that incident, the boy suffers a bizarre ordeal that will haunt him forever. Next, a retired logger and forest firefighter describes different encounters with the Forest People near his home in Yacolt, Washington.

Following the break, Cam introduces a series of unsettling sightings involving enigmatic entities referred to as Black Stickmen. Humans rarely observe these peculiar humanoid beings and bear an uncanny resemblance to conventional cartoon stick figures, rendering them among the most peculiar entities ever encountered. Black Stickmen are typically characterized as tall, slender, and entirely black, existing solely in two dimensions. Witnesses report witnessing them engage in peculiar galloping movements, with some accounts suggesting they can even hover above the ground. Due to their two-dimensional nature, these entities maintain a consistent appearance from any perspective. The mystery deepens as questions arise about the identity and purpose of these elusive figures, leaving many wondering why people are encountering them in the first place.
