As someone who has struggled trying to get my friends (and sometimes right out sitting them down in front of the television or (best-case scenario), talked them into coming to a live musical with me, this is probably the best possible experience. The best thing about it is that you can have an honest opinion from someone who's not a fan of musical theatre who sometimes comes around and recognises what's awesome about the form.
I've been listening since episode 1 and the highlight of my day is when I listen to Jess and Andrew man loving (usually) fun of the next work in the musical theatre canon.
I really wish they'd put out these twice a week, although I realise that it would be quite a demanding schedule if you don't have a whole team of people producing your show. I still love the intimate, very hangouts (not a word) vibe of the show. It's the kind of conversations I have with my non-theatre geek friends when I can get them to see some of the art that I enjoy the most. A highlight is the trivia episod when Jess goes head to head with Brental Floss. Not so much because of the quality of the trivia, since having been a fan of Jess for ages, I know he can go deep. Rather, it's Andrew's super chill and laid-back attitude towards the whole enterprise that makes this stand out from so many other podcasts about musicals. Theatre geeks always go for the deep cuts, but Andrew gives it a very warm endearing quality which has made this my favorite Musical Theatre Podcast. Cheers and keep the show going!
