Like if National Geographic and Rolling Stone had a baby. If you bump into me, nine times out of ten I’ll be wearing a band t-shirt and I’ll usually have a book in my car in case I’m forced to wait in any way…. and I’ll most likely smile…….and ask you to be on the podcast.I’ve never felt like I belonged in any one place or with any one tribe.  So, welcome to the tribe.     Through the Looking Glass pt.1

    Who hasn't bought vintage clothing? We all have and it’s usually something we treasure right? In this two part episode I sit and chat with Brandi Munoz. She is the owner of La Loupe Vintage. It's a vintage clothing boutique with two locations here in San Diego. Brandi shared with me everything from her first experience buying vintage to opening the door on her first store. Anyone wanting to open their own business, who already own a business, who manages a business for others will find something they can use in this conversation.     2020 was heartwarming and heartbreaking. It was filled with crazy, filled with love, disappointment, and ended with me filled with hope and promise for tomorrow.  I just wanted say "hey" and share my thoughts and dreams for us on this planet as we wake up into 2021.     Living on the frontline: Being a Respiratory Therapist during Covid-19

    This week we speak Registered Respiratory Therapist Erica! She is a Respiratory Therapist at one of the largest hospitals in Los Angeles. She was kind enough to sit and talk about what it's been like to go into work each day and help keep people well during a global pandemic. It was a serious but also fun conversation about what she and her colleagues are dealing with each day. What is her day like? Are people getting better? How safe do healthcare workers feel? These are just a few of the questions we touched on in this podcast. I hope you enjoy it.     The Ugly, the Bad, the Good

    The ugly: This week was difficult. The Jacob Blake shooting hit me really, really, hard. The aftermath, where a 17yr old armed with an rifle killed two peaceful protestors and was allowed to walk by police and drive home, it really got to me. In this podcast I talk about it a bit, but I also talk about what good friends, prayer, meditation, and good music can do to help us heal from the trauma we're all absorbing each time an act of violence happens. There is always hope!  The bad (not really) I also talk about completing my 2nd half-marathon at the "Run With Horses Marathon: in Green River Wyoming two weeks ago. It was amazing, beautiful, peaceful, and it kicked my a** cause 13.1 miles on mountain at 6,000 above sea level is not a game. But no, it was great and the people were great and the Green River water is excellent after you finish, but remember to "watch out for the rattlesnakes."     Hey mom...watch out for that giant charging horse

    This week's Theme is "Living abroad." Theme Podcast welcomes a new contributor and member to the Theme family, Laura P I find out from Laura what it's like to pack up your family to live all over Europe for a year. Luxury hotels and Swiss alps spas? Umm no. Think sleeping in spider infested barn's, (like "get in your sleeping bag and zip the top all the way closed too, less you have 100 large spider as bunk mates) infested barns, all artichoke menus, 2 minute ice cold showers with a water hose , and trying to milk or herd a post-parted depressed mama cow with an attitude. Laura's professional background includes working as a Special Education teacher, Project Manager, and freelance writer. She has travelled and lived around the world and is mom to 3 amazing children! (no, they really are amazing) Laura loves our Earth mother and believes in protecting her as well as living as close to her as possible. She is bilingual, kind, and generous to a fault. She loves paddleboarding, hiking, running, kickboxing and as much as a bad a** as she is, she can't resist saying "Hi" and loving on every Labrador she sees, and on occasion, leaves the "t" silent in the word "Baltimore.     I received a few emails from folks asking about.....me?!? As the host/interviewer this isn't supposed to be about me folks : ) But no, people had questions about my background, how the podcast came to be, book selections etc..
