    Q & A with my Cousin on the Journey Memorizing the Quran

    Hey everyone! Assalamu alaikum wa Rahmatullah wa barakatuh! I hope you guys are doing lovely.🤍 If you have been on the podcast Instagram page then maybe you would remember in Ramadan we took down questions you would want to ask someone who’s memorized the Quran . my cousin , shatu and I recorded this episode in Ramadan itself for you guys 😭but I didn’t get myself to edit it until now, I’m so sorry But Alhamdullilah! Allahumma in kunta ta’lamu anna haadha al-amra khayrun lee fee deenee wa ma’aashee wa ‘aaqibati amree faqdurhu lee wa yassirhu lee thumma baarik lee feehi wa in kunta ta’lamu anna haadha al-amara sharrun lee fee deenee wa ma’aashee wa ‘aaqibati amree fasrifhu ‘annee wasrifnee ‘anhu waqdur lee al-khayra haythu kaana thumma ardinee bih Translation of the du’a of istikhara: O Allah, I seek Your guidance (in making a choice) by virtue of Your knowledge, and I seek ability by virtue of Your power, and I ask You of Your great bounty. You have power, and I do not. You know, and I know not, and You are the Knower of the unseen. O Allah, if You know that this matter [mention the thing to be decided] is good for me in my religion, my livelihood, my worldly affairs, and in the hereafter then decree it for me, make it easy for me, and bless it for me. And if You know that this matter is bad for me in my religion, my livelihood, my worldly affairs, and in the hereafter then turn it away from me and turn me away from it, and decree for me the good wherever it may be and make me content with it [Sahih al-Bukhari #6382].

    The importance of knowledge in Islam

    In the first episode of the season, we reflect on the weighty status knowledge holds in our dīn. From the very first command revealed “Read!” to the praise of those who fear Allah due to what they know, Islam consistently upholds knowledge as a path to Paradise and a sign of Allah’s favor. We explore Qur’ānic verses and hadīth that emphasize the responsibility of seeking, acting upon, and sharing beneficial knowledge especially knowledge of the religion. The scholars are the inheritors of the Prophets, and those who sincerely carry and teach this light are promised ongoing reward, even after their death. May Allah increase us in knowledge that benefits and grant us sincerity in both seeking and applying it. Tune in and let your heart be reminded of why learning in Islam isn’t optional ,it’s essential. May Allah increase us in beneficial knowledge and make us people who live what we know. Ameen.

The abode of the believing people and we, if God so wills, are about to join you. I love to see my brothers." They (the hearers) said: Aren't we your brothers, O Messenger of Allah? He said: You are my companions, and our brothers are those who have, so far, not come into the world. They said: Messenger of Allah, how would you recognise those persons of your Ummah who have not yet been born? He said: Supposing a man had horses with white blazes on foreheads and legs among horses which were all black, tell me, would he not recognise his own horses? They said: Certainly, O Messenger of Allah. He said: They would come with white faces and arms and legs owing to ablution, and I would arrive at the Cistern before them. Some people would be driven away from my Cistern as the stray camel is driven away. I would call out: Come, come. Then it would be said (to me): These people changed themselves after you, and I would say: Be off, be off. She’s a third year dental student that is being refused from writing her final exams until she pays her student debt of 1.9million naira ($1295.29) Through our fund raiser we’ve raised almost 800,000 naira ( all details are on the Akhwat foundation page) Her deadline is fast approaching, Friday 13th June 2025. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever relieves a believer’s distress, Allah will relieve his distress on the Day of Judgment.” (Sunan ibn Majah 225) Even if you can’t donate, just sharing the cause could be your sadaqah. The Girl Tribe Instagram It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “There are no days during which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these days,” meaning the (first) ten days of Dhul- Hijjah. They said: “O Messenger of Allah! Not even Jihad in the cause of Allah?” He said: “Not even Jihad in the cause of Allah, unless a man goes out with himself and his wealth and does not bring anything back.” Sunan Ibn Majah 1727 ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "There are no days greater in the sight of Allah and in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Him than these ten days, so during this time recite a great deal of Tahlil ("La ilaha ill-Allah"), Takbir and Tahmid."     learning to look forward to the start of your actual life

    In this episode Nafisa reflects on a phrase her teacher said “We need to learn to love death, It’s the beginning of the actual life” For the believer one has to remember that death is the start of actual life! The whole episode is filled with many reflections of how we view death, why we might view it the way we view it and maybe a better way to look at it! * Notes to self: For the believer one has to remember that death is the start of actual life! So you have to get it right here , take with you the deeds that Allah will have mercy on you and grant you the best of the ACTUAL life Sacrifice for Him swt and prepare for a life where the currency before you are given an eternal home is in the actions you took in this test of a life. You will get what you strive for. So oh servant of her merciful lord, look at your life , look at your calendar, look at your habits , look at the day to day activities you take on in this test of a life, are you striving for a good eternal home or the opposite? Are you filling your books with good actions or the opposite? Will you be happy to start your actual life today? Your eternal life?
