Obaidullah Ahmad

Ustadh Obaidullah Ahmad is a respected Islamic educator and scholar, currently serving as an instructor and Head of the Arabic Department at Qalam. He is also a faculty member at the Qalam Seminary, where he teaches Arabic in both the full-time seminary program and the part-time Arabic program, as well as at the annual Quran Intensive. Born and raised in Long Island, New York, Ustadh Obaidullah began memorizing the Qur’an at a young age and successfully completed his memorization by the age of 13. His academic journey continued at Stony Brook University, where he earned a B.A. in Economics. Following this, he deepened his Islamic studies by enrolling in the Dream Program, becoming one of the top graduates of its inaugural year. After completing the Dream Program, he served as an assistant instructor alongside Shaykh AbdulNasir Jangda at the Summer Quran Intensive. He went on to teach Arabic and Qur’an at the Muslim Community of Knoxville before returning to Qalam, where he completed advanced studies at the Qalam Seminary. He later served as a lead instructor at the Dream Program and took on the role of Dean of Student Affairs. Ustadh Obaidullah Ahmad is recognized for his deep command of the Arabic language, effective teaching methodology, and dedication to nurturing students’ understanding of the Qur’an and Islamic sciences.
