Tenses are changes we make to verbs to show when an action happens. They tell us if something is happening right now (present), happened in the past, or will happen in the future. Why should you care about tenses? Well, imagine trying to tell a story without being able to say when things happened! - Clear communication: Tenses let you be specific. Is your friend cooking dinner right now or did they cook it last night? Big difference! - Understanding narratives: Books, movies, or even everyday conversations rely on tenses to make sense of the timeline of events. - Expressing complex ideas: Tenses let you talk about possibilities, habits, actions that started in the past and continue now, and so much more. Get ready, because English has a reputation for being a bit tricky in the tense department.
