017 Make it Crunchy: Witchy Intuition, Bronco Sidewalks & Body-Image Rebellion

In this crunchy, witchy episode of Big Witches Go Wild!, we kick things off with a working mic, democracy jeans, and the saga of my chipped tooth, beloved holistic dentist, and a Bronco Sport sidewalk mission through Seattle traffic to make it to the appointment. (I love some good Broncin' around!) From there we dive into kid chaos (benzo-fueled tiny drunk uncle behavior, forehead stitches, surprise surgeries) and the exhausted joy of ending the day with, “I kept them alive.” BOY MOMS, WE SEE YOU.  We get witchy with a claircognizant hit that pulled me to Thing Two’s unannounced dance performance, and how we use intuition and pendulums to make real-life decisions—when we’re grounded and hydrated. Then we go straight for the throat of patriarchal beauty and dress codes: teenage body dysmorphia, our parents’ thinness vows, nylons-over-merit feedback at work, and why we’re done sacrificing our bodies and time to the male gaze. With a little Susan Sontag, a nod to the Morrigan, and our new motto—“fucking make it crunchy every time”—we invite you to be a wrench in the spokes, host your own witch party, and join us as we witch out and burn down what needs burning. See you witches next week! Xo ------ Resources mentioned in this episode: No affiliate fees are being paid, LOL. 016 Titty Witches, Wand Pokes & the Call of the Crows

In this latest episode of Big Witches Go Wild!, we lean all the way into the Mars-ruled energy of Tuesday—our favorite “momentum day.” From tacos as a love language to flirting as a misunderstood life skill, we explore how playful, expressive energy can sometimes get misread, especially when you’re a naturally enthusiastic Enneagram 7. Along the way we share ridiculous weekend stories, including an accidental wand poke during a home improvement project, a spontaneous “titty witches” tattoo night, and a Beauty-by-Donna situation that may have left one of our favorite witches a little too… snatched. On the witchy side of things, we dive into symbolism and archetypes that have been showing up for us lately. Heather shares a series of timely crow encounters that feel deeply connected to her and her three sisters, the fall of the patriarchy, and to the energy of the The Morrígan (hello themes of destruction & sovereignty!). Ashley explores her long-standing fascination with Cleopatra and discovers a wild synchronicity: Cleopatra died on Ashley’s birthday millennia ago. Naturally, this leads us into conversations about archetypes, timing, and the strange little signals life sometimes sends. Underneath the laughter and storytelling, we also talk about bigger life themes—friendship shifts, Saturn-level growth moments, protecting our energy, and building lives we actually love. From dreams of wand-making merch and green-witch days for kids to witchy retreats and travel adventures, we’re imagining what Big Witches experiences might look like in the future—while remembering that it helps to occasionally eat food (hello adrenal fatigue), take care of our human bodies, and enjoy the magic of right where we are.  See you next week, big witches!!! 015 Let’s Hag Out: Payless Shoes, Patriarchy, and the Power of ‘Fuck No’

This episode of Big Witches Go Wild! is a love letter to every woman who is done being the “good girl,” the quiet supporter of broken systems, and the endlessly productive human doing. It’s about the moment you stop apologizing, start saying a full-bodied “fuck no,” and step fully into your witch, your rage, your rest, and your power. From childhood shame to modern patriarchy to Blood Moon medicine, this conversation traces the journey from being quietly shaped by the system to consciously refusing to play its game. We begin with full messy-hair, haggard-witch energy: sick kids, brutal tooth drama, antibiotics and probiotics, and spelling bee nostalgia complete with a homemade bumblebee dress, and memories of wearing the same outfit for multiple school pictures several years in a row, nevermind the busted tennis shoes. Those stories pull us into a deeper conversation about class, appearance, and shame— (hello, Patriarchy!!) Payless shoes, teasing that resulted in ripping shoes apart, the experience of moving into a giant unfinished “orphanage” house, while working paper routes and saving for Shopko jeans. From there we zoom into the present: mothering neurodivergent kids inside broken systems. We cover a flurry of email advocacy with a local school district around inequities in the school choice process for students with IEPs. We talk about the invisible labor of advocacy, the importance of belonging and strong school leadership, and how families without time, language equality, or resources often get left behind. To regulate our nervous systems in the middle of it all, we wander into EMDR-style practices, binaural beats, tarot pulls, and rooms full of silver-haired witches quietly doing democracy work through Indivisible.org—writing postcards, organizing, and holding the line. Then we go hard at patriarchy and beauty culture: calling out a workplace “mantrum,” setting firm boundaries around men at work commenting on our bodies, and unpacking how modern beauty standards are deeply entangled with patriarchy and, as it turns out, pedophilia. Eyes are open on this issue and there's no going back! We give a shout-out this week to the brilliant online educator Therese, and her work on witches and whores, (links below); we joyfully reclaim the word “hag,” invite you to “hag out” with us, and name this Blood Moon season as a portal to release over-exertion, perfectionism, and the exhausting identity of being a human doing. If you’ve ever felt the pull to stop performing, stop apologizing, and start living from your voice, your intuition, and your power— this episode is for you!! Love you bigtime. See you next week. xo  --- Check out Therese / @thereshlee on youtube where she explores the intersections of patriarchy, feminism and politics Buy her course, Witches, Whores & Rebels: A Feminist History of Patriarchal Capitalism and How to Burn it Down

014 Cray‑cations, Cults, and the Collapse of the Patriarchy

In this first episode of the Lunar New Year, we dive straight into the deep end of our current moment: the patriarchy’s slow‑motion collapse, the shock waves of the Epstein files, and how tribalism and indoctrination have numbed so many people to empathy and accountability. We explore how patriarchy has harmed not only women and children, but men too—cutting them off from their feelings and forcing them into shallow, performative versions of masculinity—while we also honor the “good guys” who are bravely unpacking their conditioning in public, in families, in therapy. We also bring it home to the personal: clearing old storage units, burning diet-obsessed journals, finding childhood tithing ledgers in tiny handwriting, and realizing just how early money, body, and religious control stories get wired in. As cycle-breakers, we discuss ending generational trauma in real time, setting and enforcing boundaries (including in co‑parenting, with tools like OurFamilyWizard), and learning to release “sisters for a season” with self-created closure and gratitude for the lessons. We discuss our kids (healthy) aversion to competition— but also love on boys’ volleyball as a softer, more expressive space— and honor a fiercely anti‑competition daughter choosing gymnastics team on her own terms; and the importance of letting kids know themselves and choose their own path. Balancing all this heavy with our normal dose of witchy humor, we share about “Cray‑cation/Cry‑cation” tales, the infamous “orphanage on Abbott Road,” cats insisting on co‑hosting, and fantasies of renting out the kids’ gymnastics gym just so we can yeet ourselves into the foam pit (BYO chiropractor). We close by recommitting to creating and connecting in this new energy—Heather by joining a local makerspace, Ashley throwing herself into pottery, and we launch a new “Song of the Day” feature, beginning with a stunning pre-/post‑transition duet of Coldplay’s Yellow by a beautiful trans artist Dylan & the Moon. This episode is a love letter to bad witches, bad bitches, and everyone doing the messy work of waking up, healing, and creating something more honest from the ruins. We love you. See you next time. xo   Links in this episode:  Feature song for today's episode:  Dylan & the Moon (Transgender Duet with previous self, Lots Holloway) Support your local makerspaces, creators go join!! - shout out to Seattle's North End Makerspace.

013 Year of the Fire Horse Kicks Off in the Face

Join us as we jump into 2026 with a splash of our classic witchy flair—going live from Podbean (after overcoming a few “techie witch” glitches). After a short holiday break, but honestly, a LONG break for us (not having our daily sister talks feels like YEEEEAAARS), we’re finally back together to reflect on the wild ride that was 2025: its challenges, growth, and unmistakable witchy lessons. (2025, after all, was a NINE year in numerology—a year of CONCLUSIONS, and wow, did we feel it!) Highlights from this episode include: Taming the Tech Goblins: Ashley’s tech-savvy problem-solving shines as she navigated those quirky app issues—because let’s be real, every modern witch needs a workaround spell or two! Witchy Wisdom and Radical Reflection: We dive into deep discussions about the exhaustion of starting a new year post-holiday chaos, collective stress, and how we’re coping with global and political turmoil. Insights from Therapy Jeff, our personal stories, and our resilience practices abound (with a sprinkle of swearing, because “fuck” is still totally a form of joy). 2025 in Review—the Nine Year of Completion: We share the powerful, sometimes painful cycles we closed—a year for letting go of playing small, breaking free from restrictive systems, and stepping into authentic power and intuitive leadership. Witchy Magic at Home: We re-envision home as a source of sanctuary and support, sharing our practical tips for boosting coziness, creating magical spaces, and curating everyday joy—especially once Christmas comes down. Sweet Surprises & Mystical Moments: Spirits, thin veils, and symbolic animal encounters (hello, New Year’s Eve coyote!) made timely appearances for both of us, reminding us of the magic in the everyday—and the importance of staying connected to intuition and nature. Looking Ahead to 2026—Year of the Fire Horse: We forecast themes of power, community, action, collaboration, and self-reliance, emboldened by the astrological energies and a splash of that Leo fire. Authentic Community & Boundaries: We reflect on just how vital it is to find your people, hold fierce boundaries, and let in peace—not drama—as a form of self-preservation and empowerment.   Tune in for inspiration, laughter, catharsis, and our blend of unmistakably witchy vibes woven into the everyday. Whether you’re plotting your next cozy home project, navigating big life changes, or simply seeking connection, this episode is your reminder that magic is everywhere—especially when you claim your power and spread a little joy. Don’t forget to leave us a review, share with your witchy sisters, and join us next week for YOUR witching hour. We'll see you there! XO PS. 011 Alive With Loss: How Grief Reshapes, Connects & Transforms Us

Some weeks we have happy hour, and some weeks we have sad hour. (Such is life, amiright?!). In this deeply honest episode of Big Witches Go Wild!, we step right into the heart of our family’s story, sharing how the losses of our mom and our baby sister, Hailey, fundamentally altered our worlds. We reflect on how grief—raw and consuming—demanded not just survival, but real transformation. Through candid conversation, we reveal the ways that loss caused us to become untethered from the life we knew, pushed us into reimagining what connection means, and ultimately taught us to carry both deep deep sorrow and hope side by side. In this trip into some of our darkest hours, we don't sugarcoat the pain or skip to “silver linings.” Instead, we linger in what’s real: the confusion, the disorientation, the long, hard work of grieving—and the unexpected moments life gifts us when presence returns, sometimes in the form of hummingbirds, lights, or unforgettable dreams.  We still find space for laughter, sibling solidarity, and wild memories (like roasting veggies while living side by side with rats in London), to the daily activities that keep us human, like changing preferences around coaching our own kids in volleyball, that help carry us forward. If you’ve ever wondered whether it’s possible to be changed—enlarged—by the hardest things, or if you’re searching for how to hold joy and loss at once, this conversation is for you. We are so grateful you are here with us, on this messy, painful, beautiful ride. Until next time. xo
