    41: Happy News! Update on NYC Grandma Burning Case, Silk/Spiderman, Kyoto, & Naomi Osaka

    Hey everyone! Welcome back to another episode of Compassion Fatigue!  ~*~ PSA: It has been 26 weeks since Breonna Taylor's murder!!! Offically half a year with no arrests...~*~   Today, Elise and Emily share some happy news from around the world. First, we give you an update on the NYC grandma burning case. Two suspects have been arrested for the case. We then talk about Asian American representation in media growing, with Sony's announcement of producing Silk for Amazon Prime. We then celebrate Kyoto's new law upholding same-sex partnerships in its municipality. Lastly, we highlight Naomi Osaka as our Apreci-Asian of the week. She is an amazing athlete and also has been moving the BLM movement forward with custom masks she wears to her matches! They touch on how cultural appropriation has also played a large role in allowing for these atrocious behaviors. Also, they discuss how Asian/Asian Americans have also been targeted in similar ways.
