    Interview with Fernando Pérez Castaño On the Situation of Cuban Workers Amidst the Blockade

    In this interview, we spoke with Fernando Pérez castaño, a gardener at a hotel near Havana. Fernando talks about the impacts of the blockade, the realities for Cuban workers, and the crisis they are experiencing right now in Cuba due to US aggression. This episode is the second statements of interviews conducted by the Resist U.S. Led War Delegation solidarity brigade that went to Cuba in August 2026. During the solidarity mission, we were able to participate in a colloquium on the legacy and future of Fidel Castro, and learn firsthand how hybrid warfare led by the US is affecting the Cuban people and how they continue to resist under an increasing sanctions regime. We were also able to strengthen regional ties and mobilize antiwar action by joining the Zone of Peace campaign gathering in Havana. Throughout our time in the country, one of our primary goals was to amplify the voices of the Cuban people, voices of people who continue to defend their revolution and socialist project despite a crippling US embargo and an intensifying hybrid war. With the Trump administration escalating its offensive across Latin America, we believe it is more urgent than ever to share these perspectives in order to strengthen our solidarity with the people of Cuba and all of Latin America. In the coming weeks, we will release a series of interviews conducted during the solidarity delegation, as we sat down with workers, government officials, party leaders, and academics who are bravely struggling against US sanctions and fighting for their sovereignty.     Cuba Resists the Crippling U.S. Blockade | Conversation with Yaima Oña de los Cuetos Professor in Political Economy at the University of Havana Member of the Juventud Comunista de Cuba and the Partido Comunista de Cuba

    In August 2026, the Resist US-Led War movement sent a solidarity delegation to Cuba.     Sarah Raymundo is a Filipino activist who organizes for BAYAN - Bagong Alyansang Makabayan in the Philippines, as a member of its national executive board and its international liaison officer. Sarah is also a coordinator of Commission 1 (concern for national and social liberation against imperialism and all reaction) of the International League of Peoples’ Struggle. She is the President of the Philippines-Bolivarian Friendship Association. She is also college professor at the University of the Philippines-Center for International Studies.
