I like the way a seemingly simple plot follows the traditions of storytelling yet flips it at the same time. The victim is not rescued, nor does she become the hero of others, or does she? She becomes her own flawed hero - challenging accepted social constructs. We talked about this one long and hard - you are wise in your steadfastness ... and I think you are growing as a storyteller.
