Cancelled Dates, Meeting the Friends, and When To Ask Someone Out, Dear Guyset

What should you do when someone cancels a date on you? When should you meet the friends of someone you're dating? And how soon after matching on Hinge should you ask someone out? In this Dear Guyset episode, I'm answering real questions from guys about dating, relationships, career, and life in your 20s. We're talking about what to do when someone cancels a date at the last minute, whether you should go on a date you're not looking forward to, when you should meet her friends, who should plan the second date, how to tell if someone wants something casual or a serious relationship, and when to ask someone out after matching on a dating app. I'm also getting into career questions, including how long you should stay at a job before leaving, whether you should apply for a job even if you don't meet all the qualifications, plus when it's time to start buying nicer clothes. The Internet's Work Advice, Explored

There is so much work and career advice on the internet, especially when you're starting your first job or trying to figure out corporate life in your 20s. But how much of that advice is actually good? In this episode of Guyset, I went through some of the work advice I've been seeing on TikTok, Instagram, and across the internet and gave my thoughts on all of it. Some of it I completely agree with. Some of it I think needs a little more context. And some of it I just don't agree with at all. We talk about dealing with difficult coworkers, how much you should actually share at work, why you should keep track of your accomplishments, getting important conversations in writing, and what being bored at work might actually be telling you. I also get into some of the stuff about working full time that I don't think we talk about enough, like staying active, building a routine, having a social life, and figuring out how to have a life outside of work. Because when you first start working, it can really feel like your job suddenly takes up your entire life. You're trying to be good at your job and grow your career while also going to the gym, seeing your friends, dating, making plans, taking care of yourself, and somehow not coming home every night and immediately falling asleep on the couch. If you're starting your first job, figuring out corporate life, trying to grow in your career, dealing with coworkers, struggling with work-life balance, or just trying to figure out how you're supposed to navigate work in your 20s, there's probably something in here for you. Take whatever advice resonates with you, try it out, and see what actually works for you. How Do I Know If She Likes Me? Dear Guyset

So how do I know if she actually likes me or if she's just being nice? And if we start dating, how do I know if she's seeing someone else? And what do I do when we I start to really like her and overthinking everything? In this Dear Guyset episode, I'm giving my take on some of the biggest early dating questions guys are asking right now. I'm talking about how to tell if she likes you or is just being nice, whether you should assume she's seeing other guys, how long you should wait to text her back, and what to do when you can't stop overthinking everything. I also get into when to ask for a second date, how often you should see someone when you first start dating, and why trying to play texting games usually makes dating more complicated than it needs to be. If you've ever found yourself wondering "Does she actually like me?" "Is she seeing other guys?" or "Am I texting her too much?" or anything else along those lines, this episode is for you. Timestamps: 02:39: How do you know if somebody actually likes you or she's just being friendly? 07:11: How do I know if the girl I'm seeing is also seeing other guys too? 14:15: If somebody takes forever to text you back, should you match their texting energy or should you just text how you normally would back? 18:54: How do you stop overthinking every single thing when you actually really like someone for the first time in a while? 23:22: I just went on a really good first date. How long should I wait before asking her out again? 25:30: How often should I be seeing someone when we first start "dating"? Ask your own question for the next Dear Guyset at Guyset.com. What Guys Can Learn From Spider-Man: Brand New Day

What can Spider-Man teach us about growing up, rejection, heartbreak, comparison, grief, and moving forward? In this episode of Guyset, I'm breaking down the biggest lessons guys can learn from Spider-Man: Brand New Day and why Peter Parker continues to be one of the most relatable superheroes for all guys. We grew up alongside Tom Holland's Spider-Man, and now Peter Parker is dealing with many of the same things we are: getting rejected, comparing his life to his friends, trying to balance everything at once, dealing with loss, asking for help, and figuring out how to keep moving forward when life doesn't go according to plan. I talk about why Spider-Man has always been different from other superheroes, the story behind Stan Lee creating a hero with real personal problems, and why seeing someone as powerful as Spider-Man struggle with the same things we do can make us feel a little less alone. This episode is about more than Spider-Man. It's about growing up, starting over, leaning on the people around you, and realizing that even when a chapter of your life ends, there's always a brand new day. If you're dealing with heartbreak, rejection, loneliness, comparison, grief, or simply trying to figure out your 20s, this episode is for you.
